**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Another replay:

http://drop.sc/215560

Tried to do some 2 rax pressure. Protoss opponent held it off easily with zealots only despite teching so fast he had HT with storm finished at 8mins. Am I seriously supposed to believe that T has the advantage early game? What a load of ****ing BS.

I know I didn't play great (just improvised the build off the top of my head, got supply blocked badly) but not so terrible I deserved to lose so badly to a protoss teching so fast.

Bunker in/near your mineral line and always do the first rax at your main ramp (never your natural cos it's just a telltale sign) then repair.

Yeah, I specifically wanted him to think I was 1 rax expanding that's why I built it at the natural ramp. Will remember to just bunker up next time.

I just went on a 5loss streak. I swear Terran is just so ****e. In every matchup you've got to micro the **** out of every single unit or lose -_-

I encountered that super fast storm the other day. Basically just attack him at any point before Storm comes out and he'll die.

I did. Kept pressuring with 2rax and he just held with pure zealots from 3 gates (despite me having conussive shells). The only time I managed to get the upper hand and forced his zealots to retreat, was when he had just got his first storm energy so he just massacred my army with 1 storm.

I quit. This game is a ****ing joke
How many times have you "quit" now?

Lol. If you really feel that frustrated, just take a couple days break, try some new builds, or maybe change race if it's that bad.

Ok ok you complain almost endlessly about having to micro so so much better and zerg and protoss are so much easier... Perhaps you can show us a replay of a TvZ and a TvP you've played today where you feel you outplayed the opponent and lost?

Maybe a replay would help me understand what you are talking about and make me more sympathetic because as is, it just seems like balance whining...

Just started playing again, boy do I suck currently.

Just getting the hang of scouting, and getting my timing down (stopping probe production occasionally seems to work very well). I still need to attack earlier and have better map control. Working my way up bronze 1v1 (previously only played 4v4 competitively, was in platinum btw, hence the lack of scouting, I tended to focus on getting late game tech early whilst teammates provided initial pressure).

Bronze league zerg players are pretty terrible in my experience, I win against them far more often than the other factions

30:70 win rates. No need to share a replay when the best league in the world shows what needs to be said lol.

You serious? The best league in the world (GSL) win ratio TvZ: 15:13

Korean win rates, Terran is again top (as they have been 9 of the last 12 months), with a 54% win rate against Protoss and 51% win rate against Zerg...

International win rates, terran is not top this month but has been 8 of the last 12 months... still beating Protoss with 51.5% win rate and 45% win rate against Zerg.

I'm not saying the game is perfectly balanced, but unless if you cherry pick tournaments, the winrate is hardly 30:70 :-/ Maybe you just miss those olden days when TvP winrate was 62% :p

Anyway.... to me your posts are unfounded balance whining until you show me replays of you outplaying your opponent and losing

Very good advice, it is usually best to just step away for a few days and then to re-evaluate. In most cases you will get back to it and wonder why you ever got so angry in the first place :)

Words do not express how bad i'am at this game. I got it early on and didnt play much, sufice to say i recently picked the game up again and have been getting my backside handed to me over and over since.

I only play terran because im not brave enough to try anything else. I can get a nice fast economy going early on and if forced i can even do a fast expand... but my problem is i never know when to stop building troops at the start and harrass, and i almost always bulk up my base way too much and end up shelling behind my line untill the enemy comes to stomp me.

Once or twice i got brave and i got burned as a result, i do watch videos and stuff but i just suck suck suck ... need mentor! :P

1) NEVER stop building troops. Same goes for SCVs until ~14min mark.
2) keep money below 500min 500gas. If you can't spend fast enough then build more rax, factories and starports
3) take your natural expansion before 8mins, and your 3rd base before 13mins
4) don't get supply blocked
5) remember to get your tech lab upgrades - combat shield, stim, concussive shells, generally in that order
6) attack when you get maxed

Honestly just following those 6 steps will get you into gold at least. It doesn't even really matter what units you buy, though I would suggest sticking with just marines and marauders at first until you get the hang of macroing. After this happens, you can add in medivacs, and an ebay for upgrades. Some more specific tips:

- take your 3rd gas geyser at the same time you start your factory building, and your 4th when you put down your starport
- use two hotkeys for your buildings: one for your CCs and the other for all your production structures, and just tab through them
- as terran, you should have 22 workers at each expansion for optimal saturation (16 on minerals and 3 on each gas). To check, just double click on an SCV and you should see two and a half rows in the bottom panel.
- some good basic builds to focus on macro are the 1 rax expand and the CC first. I would suggest not getting any gas at all for the first ~10 games. Just build depots, SCVs, rax and marines. This really helps you with macro. Push out at 10 mins with all your marines.

I'll be online for a bit today, I'll be in the OcUK chat channel so if you want to play a couple of custom games then look through the replay then just hit me up. My ID is Beelzebro

Such an awesome post, thank you so much for the advice!

Ill be sure to give everything a try and post my results, ill join the chat channel also! maybe once i get some practice in you can dominate me in short order im sure :P

Lol at the goldies and plats telling a master player of two races that he's balance whining and doesn't know the winrates XD

O well I'll reply back when someone of high enough skill actually replies with a well written reply telling me why I'm wrong.

The only difference being that I'm actually backing up what I'm saying whereas you're just trying to avoid the fact that you don't have any replays where you lost while playing better than your opponent, while constantly whining that terran needs to outplay zerg/protoss to win
