**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

I use a 7970 with hots and everything is fine. Try disabling XF and see if that makes any difference.

I'm on 13.2 drivers

Also 60% on x2 7970s should be some serious overkill. I actually fold with my gpu+cpu while playing Sc2 on ultra and never have any sluggishness

I am @1400p and with one card its hitting 40fps quite regular with everything totally maxed however its the same with 2 cards. If I could get radeonpro working for dynamic vsync itd be better as no screen tear

What res you game at? And do you have all the options to extreme/ultra?

They fixed the problem you're referring to before even HotS came out.

Is your CPU overclocked? I'd get rid of the overclock and see if it runs fine then. SC2 is very CPU orientated.

didn't have any problems with HOTS played all the campaign without a problem

I have 7970 with a 2700k @ 4ghz and 16gigs of mem so I can't see why u would even need crossfire to play it have u tryed disabling crossfire and just playing it
and I play at ultra and high setting but only at 1080p and have u tryed the lastest beta driver and crossfire profile from amd

Hey guys,
Sorry to double post this but I wasnt sure which section to put it in. Here goes anyways-
I have 7970 crossfire and a 2600k cpu @4.8ghz but both my GPU in game only hit 60% tops resulting in drops in fps. Apparantly this is a common problem for people so I was wondering if anyone has this problem and/or has fixed it? I like to run RadeonPro but it wont work right either as dynamic vsync just dosnt work. I changed the launcher to Starcraft 2 but no framecap or vsync. Anyone please??

I'm going to write a brief guide on how to get the most out of RadeonPro and show the smoothness improvement that can be had on single/multi card so look out for that.

Regarding your question i believe you're cpu bottle necked as im led to believe that starcraft is poorly optimised and is single threaded and therefor cpu dependent, even more so with 2x7970's. All you can do is overclock your cpu more for this title. You will be fine in most games though as the 2600k is a great chip with HT on.

Any ETA on the guide? I keep hearing about RadeonPro but not found a good guide so far.

That LT would be interesting and informative for the red army.

Both felt very smooth to be honest but this is more aimed at dual gpu users more than single card users. However it can still benefit single card users as well.

My CPU was very high usage on 1 core last night but I turned HT back on and now @4.8 ghz its never going above 50%. I have resorted to 1 card as well and that is at 99% usage but the same fps as 2 cards which leaves the obvious.......crossfire aint working for me! I would like to force it through RP but its not letting me. I think the launcher has something to do with it

Well i've "resigned" from diamond 2 v 2

- I've no idea how I ended up in that league in the first place
- fed up of getting abuse of team-mates as to how crap I am.

Honestly - I play for fun and will never be anything other than that but seriously some people are just so abusive it's unreal!

On a plus note - back to rank 1 in silver 1 v 1's! Had an epic 39 min game versus a zerg yesterday which I eventually won! Mass widow mine drops for the win!

Hi All,

Has anyone experienced trouble with the HOTS product code?

Last night I was trying to redeem my code on the Blizzard website and it was telling me I couldn't redeem the code, and to try later.

Well I started playing SC2 about 6 months ago, got into the silver league, and took some time off before the expansions release

Just done all my ranking matches for HotS and I've just been placed into the gold league. Should be interesting.

If any one wants to play my in game and give me some tips, my battletag is Slappyboom#2850

My story exactly, to be honest so far players faced in gold have been very ropey. Seems MMR is messed up with loads of new players compared to end of WoL where i fought like mad for 3 months to get promoted to silver.
