Oscar Pistorius thread

He's on pubic record as saying he kept a handgun on his bedside table.

Bedside table I assume then its beside the bed. The same bed where his Girlfriend wasn't lying in at the time.

The same bed he had to walk over to in the pitch black fumbling for his gun without noticing that his girlfriend was no longer in bed

You'd think if he thought there was an intruder he would have whispered to his girlfriend to stay calm, stay quiet and call the police

If it was dark, how could he see she wasn't there - he explicitly knew where his gun was.

Would you not check!!? It makes no sense!

Would you shoot into your closed toilet if you knew that at least one other person was living with you in your home and without making sure it is not them in that toilet. NO!

Not sure what people find hard to grasp about this lol.

Maybe singletons that live alone....

Oscar is a cold blooded murderer, if he gets anything less than a murder conviction it'll be a horrendous miscarriage of justice and a complete embarrassment to the SA police and judicial system!

Who knows what was going through his head, he was seemingly borderline paranoid about his safety.

I'm not saying he should just be allowed to walk away scott free, at the very least he should be done for manslaughter if such a thing exists in SA law - but the issue is that the prosecution have been completely unable to provide any evidence that doesn't discount his version of events.

Good diagram here.

you would shake your partner awake and say "shhh... someone is in the house... I'm gonna kill them..."

i assume turd burglery is common place is SA... or did he keep his valuables down the bog?...

if he never killed her on purpose he deserves to go down for the crime anyway for extreme stupidity..

Not if you're sure they're behind you in another area of the house, and not if you know that anyone intruding into your home is likely to be hell bent on harming/killing you with what are likely to be lethal weapons.

It's the black of night, he's been woken, he's acting in a way that he believes is protecting himself and his mrs.

Either way is possible.

Point number three.
He shouted to his girlfriend who then either didn't respond or did respond from the bathroom. If I shouted in the middle of the night my mrs would definetley come back with some sort of answer

It does on the BBC site though http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-21516664

Point no.2

Why wouldn't she say at that point, 'I'm in the Bathroom' ?
Maybe because she didn't realise that Pistorius thought it she was the intruder in the bathroom and was just going to finish having a **** before making the call? We've no idea what happened in there or what was going through either persons mind at the time.

There is always an answer and a million scenarios it could have been, like I keep saying, it has to be reasonable doubt, not just any doubt ;)

And all this just for a bail hearing! The trial itself is going to be a circus.
