Oscar Pistorius thread

I suppose the only solace that can be found in this farce, is that the correct verdict, that is that Pistorious murdered his girlfriend was passed.

The sentence is an irrelevance really, his life is over, he is now "the murderer, Oscer Pistorious" that won't change when he gets out, 10 years down the line or 20 years down the line.

Absolutely!

His worst nightmare will be filling out an immigration landing card on his next trip overseas lol :D

6 years is pathetic,I dont believe at all he though it was an intruder.

The reaction when the judge said he got 6 years,You can sort of see hes thinking..thank god its 6 and not 15+

Bet he will do 4 years max and get out.

Here comes the appeal against his lenient sentence:

South African prosecutors say they will appeal against Oscar Pistorius's six-year sentence for murder, calling it "shockingly too lenient".

The National Prosecuting Authority said the sentence was "disproportionate to the crime" and could bring the justice system "into disrepute".

Yes but remember the judge took into account how really really upset poor ickle Oscar wuz...:eek:

Absolutely crazy whats happening in this farce of a trial.
One would think with it being so public and the whole worlds interest in this they at least get the sentencing right. 6 years an absolute joke of a sentence...

At last.

The absolute farce that is the last 4 years of the south african legal system trying to find a way to not punish this psychopath appropriately is now over.

It wont bring her back, but at least hes going to spend a decent amount of time locked up now.

He hasn't got a leg to stand on (BOOM/TISH, do I win the "spinning bow tie award!!)

Apparently he got in trouble in prison and now his sentence may be raised again after he broke into a guard's locker and stole a camouflage jacket, the prison have issued a statement that "he can hide but he can't run!".

:P

On 21 July 2016, the NPA confirmed that they would appeal against Judge Thokozile Masipa's "shockingly lenient" 6-year jail sentence. The appeal hearing took place on 26 August 2016 and the bid to appeal the sentence was rejected by Masipa who said that the NPA had "no reasonable prospect of success" of securing a longer prison sentence for Pistorius

Think again, Thokozile.

Better sentence this time than the joke that was given originally. Although the scumbag should be locked up for life for the murder of his gf.

As for the original judge?? She should also be jailed for being utterly incompetent. Thankfully they saw sense somewhat and increased his sentence.
