I thought the minimum sentence for Murder over there was 13 years ? How did he get away with a 6 year sentence..

6 years for a guilty charge of murder seems to be a joke and an insult to Reeva's family. Is there the option of appeal as they must be p*****d.

From what i read on the BBC article, it mentioned that the judge was satisfied with the level of remorse shown and blah blah, she felt that warranted a lesser length of sentence.

Yes the state can appeal, and most likely will. However OP's defence team are unlikely to appeal incase it backfires and ends up with a longer sentence.

The whole case was a circus from the start.

The first judge completely messed it up because she didn't know her own law and they had to retrial him.

I feel bad for the family of the victim having to through so much of this pain for the last couple of years.

I suppose the only solace that can be found in this farce, is that the correct verdict, that is that Pistorious murdered his girlfriend was passed.

The sentence is an irrelevance really, his life is over, he is now "the murderer, Oscer Pistorious" that won't change when he gets out, 10 years down the line or 20 years down the line.

Yep same point I raised previously stupid that she was even allowed to sentence him given she wrongly applied the law in the first trial.
