Well that is good and if we could do that I'm sure we would. No, we are not the scientists mentioned. They are ones that work in Peru already and will guide and give us expertise when undertaking the work. They wont collect data for us but will help when needed as this is there trained field of work.

so why dont you just give them 2k and tell them to collect the data for you? seems like a waste of time sending you out if your not needed.

this type of volunteering generally requires going into the middle of nowhere and working full time which requires money. Just because we cant afford to pay for the whole thing doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to help

im sure you can help without actually going over there why dont you donate some equipment

what you really want is someone to pay for you to get some work experience...

I'm currently applying for funding for my own summer project entitled Nanomechanical properties of free-standing graphene
If anybody fancies donating to me instead.......

im sure you can help without actually going over there why dont you donate some equipment

We are looking for the experience in this field of work and most expeditions include a student or two who will use this for their honours degree. To get what we want we need to go there and do it ourselves.

No. But it might be used in a dissertation and why not? The majority of us will not use this as part of our uni work.

It kinda does. You want to do exotic things, you shouldnt look for charitable members of the public to bank roll you.

I think I can handle them

Seen a few snakes in Bolivia but that is where the guides come in handy! There are some right beastly critters there but cant wait to get some shots of them

Ok. I'm sure the experience will be beneficial to some of us, especially those studying zoology who want to do this full time. It's tough to get into so experiences like this will of course help. I'm sure you will now take this off in another direction with some more obnoxious posts but please, if your not interested then don't post any more.

I am interested, thats why I'm posting. But I'm interested that you seem to trying to get charitable members of the public to fund your trip of a lifetime rather than interested in donating.

I do hope anyone who is feeling charitable donates instead to a more worthy charity, of which there are many.

There are people in this country who would pay good money to do what you are trying to do almost for free

Well that is good, although I don't understand the fund/donation bit. People can donate to where ever they want, donating is obviously a good thing to any charity, but they probably wont get a full report and photos of what they are donating to. We will end up paying over a grand each, that is good money for a student

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd tell you about what I am doing this summer. Basically I will be spending 6 weeks in the house with the wife doing research on the various ways I can prevent myself from choking her in an attempt to save my sanity and my habitats which we've spent the last year creating. Depending on our findings, the bodily harm inflicted to her may be slight enough to avoid arrest.

There are 3 of us living in the house and we are all part of the human race that actually have jobs which help keep the chavs alive with free handouts.

Please give generously.
