ello,

Does anyone think that overclockers would benefit from having a User account system on their sales website? I think it would be really helpful. features like Order history, changing items on orders, RMA's, Check the status of orders, customer services etc.

I made 2 orders this weekend, i made them seperately because the second order was not planned. if i could have logged onto the OC website and ajusted my order (added the new PSU) that would have saved me the postage again!

anyways whats people thoughts on this, and perhaps we can try and get it implemented. :)

I would welcome it, it's surprising a company as big as OcUK doesn't have an account system already.

It's a good point. But it would make things quicker for delivery details to be stored etc.

The site does store your delivery info in a cookie but an account would be much better in my opinion.

It costs a lot of time and money to impliment a system that works very well, I'm sure OcUK will consider it, if they aren't already working on it.

i would suggest leaving the option of not using an account (like it is currently), but for poeple who use OCuk on a regular basis the user account option would be there aswell.

I can only say so much, without crossing the line of slandering OcUK. But I'll do my best.

OcUK need to offer more economic delivery options for small and light goods. The current £8 simply is simply not competitive. Recorded/Special delivery options would be adequate.

Accounts would be good. A certain competitor lets me save quotes - a feature I find very useful.

I feel they could get better software their website's shop. It's a bit of a pain to scroll down an extremely long list with pictures and descriptions of each product. I'd imagine a good bit of bandwidth is guzzled, too.

A clickable title and a price alongside is good. Click the title, and the main description can open in a small frame. Meaning not having to go click back and forward, either.

My 2p worth.

Yup agree with most of the above. They also need a search function extremely badly, and these are easy as pie to code.
An account system wouldn't be that difficult to integrate per-se, but its more the change factor and worries on security.

They have a £4.75 delivery option for small, lower cost items, but for anything over a certain weight/amount then the extra insurance is needed, and I believe RM never satisfied in that department.

I'd love to have an account, hell I'd love to have the option of a nice setup trade account with payment terms etc and a discount as if OCUK offered an online account checking facility I'd no doubt use them over the other supplyers I use
but they don't
so I don't.

£5.25 (+VAT = £6.16) postage with City Link for a £3.46 IDE cable, RM is £6.95 + VAT (£8.17)

They took away 1st/2nd class as people were ordering items worth more than ~£30 on them that the insurance covers and then when the parcels went missing OcUK were paying out for them.

Personally I'd have liked to have seen RM 1st/2nd class stay but with a cap on the amount you could order with it, but I guess this wasn't an option.

Royal Mail don't consider items lost until 15 working days have passed so if your parcel gets lost - it is 3 weeks before it can be claimed for.
