Overclockers Shop accounts?

ooh you mentioned CitiLink - we can't get deliveries at work and they will not drop with neighbours either, no matter how much we ask them to! :( So I have an hours drive to Grantham to pick stuff up! (This may put me off ordering my new pc kit from OCUK :( )

Anyways, I prefer the current site as it stands BUT I am an infrequent user. I would rather not create an account for only to use it twice in 4 years! If I regularly ordered stuff though , then an account would be handy.

in my experience its the ones with the flashy websites that are hiding something :)

maybe a spruce up would be nice, but i like the fact that its quick to load and easy to find things :)
personally I would disagree, i dont think its easy to find things on ocuk's site.

I have same issue, but its 2 hours from here.

citylink are a pain for me, out of about 200 orders/dilliverys I had by them to me, 173 where late, missing one of the boxes (or more), damaged or "missing" only to be found two days later.

had one incident when the guy got here, carded me even tho I was here, didn't ring the bell or anything!
I phoned em up asked what the hell was going on, they said that he must have rung the bell and that I can't of been there, that they would try to dillver tomorrow. they did turn up tomorrow, to tell me that they had put the package on ANOTHER VAN GOING THE OTHER WAY!

took them nearly a week to get the dillivery to me.

I have recommended OC to a few people over the years & a couple of people have thought the site looks dodgy & refused to order from them. The site imo really needs to be updated it looks very amateur.
I've had similar comments from people I've referred to OcUK. I must admit, when I first visited the site a few years back, I didn't get the impression that I was looking at the online presence of an established, professional retailer.

By all means, I wouldn't like to see something "flashy" as in a website crammed full of flash animations (or God forbid, a site made completely from flash!), or one with a bucketload of useless "futuristic" pictures. What I'd like to see is a sleek, streamlined CSS/XHTML creation which looks more professional, and loads faster (Looking at the source now, there is a lot of redundant code) :)

I think overclockers website is still one of the best online shops as its simple and easy to use, however there is one competitor that in my opinion is now superior but I obviously can't mention as they're a competitor.

I prefer the competitors site, because its more compact and you can see the basic info(price, stock, product name) about a series of similar items (say graphics cards) on one screen without having to scroll a lot.

An accounts system would be nice, as I find it very useful for keeping records of what i've ordered, as I often order for other people. Its also good for preordering but I'd imagine thats less important in computer hardware than in say games or cds etc.

I think that the list of items could be altered so that you have a list of items with a little pic and then click on it to get more information. Also have the list sortable by price, maker, name.
