Overclockers UK Grand Opening!! Saturday 10th November

I was meant to be off work, now ive been called in GRRR. I dont need anything in the sale but id have been willing to pop in for a nosey and possibly grab a 7970 for someone who was to far away to visit personally :(

Ahh damn :( I might have taken you up on that :(

Right, now that there is a SSD on offer too, I'd really appreciate if anyone near NW London is going up to pick some stuff up for me. CPU, Ram, SSD would be awesome.

You going earlier now mate? :D

Well, Gibbo says there are plenty of those to go around so probably not.

Besides, whether I go or not depends on whether Sluggforabutt can get the day off. Although my gf is muttering about how she might let me have the car if he can't (it would be better to share petrol costs to allow for more spendage though).

What I disagree with is not giving any idea of stock levels of said items out, the levels are available on the website so why can't you just publish them to give people an idea (even if its only 1 item per customer). Say for example you have only 15 x 7970's to sell at that price with 300 people wanting one, means a lot of disappointed customers.
I remember about 10 years ago when DAB radio was virtually no-exisitent and anything was hideously expensive that Pure announced that to test the market they were going to release a limited number of a special edition DAB radio for £99 (as opposed to the £300-400 for their then existing modesl) and they gave a list of shops that would have stock which would go on sale on a specific date. As this happened to be very close to my birthday I thought I'd treat myself to one and as one of the shops was a few miles away from work planned to make a trip at lunchtime on the first day. However, I when at ~10am I checked details on the internet I found several news postings about large numbers of people waiting outside these shops at opening time to discover the "limited nimber" was 10 units per store and they had all been sold in the first 5 mins leaving large numbers of angry potential customers at the shop and others like me at least having the comfort that I'd not wasted time and effort to get there to find there was nothing left. At least it did persuade Pure that there was a market and a year later brought out a real product for £99.

Really us peeps who can't make it down from Scotland should be given some sort of Grand Opening deal...I mean come on, I want to help you celebrate opening by taking advantage of a good deal :p

Can somebody tell me which waterblock fits the 7970 on offer please? If it's a "weird" card which no waterblock fits then I might change my mind about travelling down.

Thanks

Oh and have ocuk got any stock of the right waterblock as well please?

Wow those deals are amazing! Do they qualify for next day....er...wait a minute, only available to visitors to the store? Hmm, OK, tank and a half of petrol, leave at 3Am to get there on time, estimate about £120 in petrol alone....not worth it.

Well done guys, you just screwed over the many people that can't visit the store. I'd say there are more customers that can't practically go to the store than customers who can. nice effort chaps.

U mad bro?

Cheers but unfortunately that isn't the exact model no of the sapphire and if you select different sapphire cards you get different models of water blocks:confused:

Screwed over? Do you have an entitlement complex?

what i recall of the sapphire card when i was researching cards a few months ago was the sapphire card is reference design+an extra vrm where a waterblock wouldn't normally interfere. not sure if that helps
