Overclockers UK Grand Opening!! Saturday 10th November

There was a cute blonde thing handing out vouchers for the burger van and cans of fuel, but if you are expecting pictures of an army of scantily-clad girls then im afraid you will be disappointed

If you got photos show us here! :)

I have a photo of the guy who rode off with his new monitor balanced across the tank of his bike. Epic points for effort there.

I went, I couldn't make up my mind quickly enough so missed out on the Intel SSD and got the OCZ instead as a scratch drive for my photo editing. Had some good banter in the queue, and all would have been well, except I broke down on the way home. So it would've been cheaper to stay home and order it at normal prices, but hey that's not OcUK's fault :p

They had.there was only 10 at 199 but they had 100 in stock. The first 10 had gone by 7.30am as I was no 11. By the time I got to the till at 12.30am with my 7970 ticket I thought I would buy one at the two price of 299. Guy got one scanned it, it came up as 199. Went into the back room to get somebody to fix it, came back and said that they are not bothering changing it and I can have it at 199 :D

Another ocuk staff member said it didn't matter as ocuk were still making profit at 199 as the margins are so huge on the dgm screens.

Ah, I wondered why you were a bit coy when I asked if you'd bought it at RRP. 'Spose you wouldn't want to be shouting that across the room with that many blokes queuing up though! ;)

TBH I wouldnt have cared! It might have prompted somebody to change it on the database finally but I think they were all shattered and couldnt be botthered by then.

I have a feeling I was the first person to try and buy a dgm screen at the £299 price (thought it was worth that anyway) and what makes me laugh is the 5 minutes I tried and convince 5UB to sell me it at £199 and he wouldn't budge but then it went through at that price anyway! lol

I shall have to take my business elsewhere after being let down in such spectacular fashion.
I shall also be reporting you to trading standards.

Yep, I was disgusted. The leaflets did mention showgirls, plural.

I was so insulted I almost handed back my 7970 and dgm screen.......

We made a very small profit at £199 as DGM gave you funding to write our costs down for the shop launch, our normal cost is way over £199.

I also hope the one we put on the counter to show customers didnt get sold, that is my monitor on my desk in the purchasing office!

Otherwise I will have to take monday off work to recover.

The show girls probably saw all you geeks and decided they weren't being paid enough so buggered off home lol!
