Overwatch 2 is Official

Thought I'd give this a go, not played in over a year.

Maybe I'm just too super casual to notice. But I really do fail to understand these people that say it's a completely different game.

Who's saying that?! I don't think it's meant to be taken literally, like when someone gets a new haircut and you say 'My god, you look like a completely different person', you don't mean it literally, just that they look very different.

It is quite different. The main thing is that the reduction in shields makes it more open and frantic. It used to be any game without a shield would have everyone moaning. No-one expects a shield now. Even if you do play Rein, they've lowered the HP of his shield and it just doesn't last very long. Now when I play soldier for example, his ult is much more dangerous as people are generally more exposed.

Enjoying - I didn't think I would. I like the lack of shields - makes for a slightly more "hectic" game

Playing with my son - basically I play mercy/moira - he plays Zarya and we've pretty strong combo.....

Jumping a couple of ranks every 7/8 games - up to silver 4 from bronze 4 already.

Same as you Booyaka, At first I felt like I was just playing the same game as OW1?

Now after a few games/hours i am noticing the differences such as the lack of shields and i am enjoying it more than I thought i would

Decided to give it another go yesterday now that me and a friend can get on together. I enjoyed it much more. The lack of shields is certainly a bonus.

I've not played for years as I just got bored of OW and mates stopped playing. Found OW2 noticeably different but the feel was the same the matches I had were very mixed though. Teams balance was all over the palce.

Had twitch on for the drops and it's nuts how many streamers, aren't even in game, just sitting in the queue or doing random training modes. Not that I have Kiriko since I've not paid for the pass.

You should have Kiriko if you had OW1.

Kiriko should be in all modes expect comp at the moment...

Tried her a few times but seems to be very lacking in healing - just not enough healing to be a healer. Her "teleport" is useful but seems to be a little underwhelming at the moment for me.

How is Competitive in this?

I might give it a run later tonight

Similar to any competitive game - good games/bad games/close games/frustrating games....

I'm enjoying it at the moment - to climb properly you would need a decent 2/3/4 players/team to work with as solo can be hard work

Definitely disagree, she's a very strong healer. I can easily get 9-10k+ healing in a shorter quick play match when others are just doing 7-8k. You've just got to play her as, well, a healer; forget about her kunai unless escaping and M1 all day. I do think she's quite a matchup-specific hero though, in that if you don't have any enemies to cleanse status effects from, her cleanse is quite useless, and you may as well choose Bap with his lamp if you want death protection compared to her very short protection.

Bastion and Torbjörn will be taking a quick trip to the workshop while we iron out a few bugs in their ability kits! Bastion will be unavailable in all modes during this time, while Torbjörn will still be playable in Quick Play.

I got put in Bronze 3 which was a bit demoralising as I was comfortably gold whenever I played in OW1, seems this has happened to a lot of people but it's led to Bronze being a right mess. There are people playing that would have been Gold or even Plat before and then you've got people in your games that probably really were in Bronze.

Was about to shutout on Hollywood yesterday when our Rein inexplicably charged towards their spawn and decided to try spawn camping them and promptly died with the Genji following him in. We then get rolled and they take the payload and end up losing the whole game. So while we probably deserved to lose due to this error and then never really gaining that level of control back again, it was incredibly frustrating.

I'm about to unlock competitive mode with a few more wins. Any pointers on guides, tips or streamers I can learn from? I'll mainly be playing damage.

pick a couple of heroes and learn them inside out. Solider/Genji/Reaper are solid to start. Junk is fairly easy to play.

I'm loving Symetra so far - with single shield you can really do some serious damage once that goes down.

Up to Gold 5 on support now
