Overwatch 2 is Official

I've still been playing (and enjoying) the first one up until now, so I'm definitely planning to give this a try, but pretty sure the F2P model will ruin it for me.

I'm enjoying it. Matchmaking is still hot garbage but I'm hoping that evens out as the season progresses.

I understand the complaints about the battle pass, especially character locking, but I've played the game since OW1 beta and aside from the occasional lootbox purchase, I haven't spent money on the game. I have no issue throwing £10 at the game every season if I continue to play it as often as I do.

I mean how many times were calls made to focus a healer or a tank. That alone shows how important they are.
I guess... maybe... the point is more about how you can (or rather, can't) dominate and own a match as support? I've seen it happen with really good tanks, but DPS ability is still the biggest swing factor. Maybe it works if I put it in numbers. If you were adding up skill to determine the overall team skill and a bad tank was 3 at lowest and a good tank 8. A bad support was 4 and a good support was 6. A bad DPS is 0 and a good DPS is 10. I'm not sure if that makes sense? Losing a support is big, yes of course. But the difference between a bad Moira and an amazing one isn't as big as a bad Genji and an amazing one.

Played a few games. As someone who only played QP classic or the arcade games depending what there was

The push game mode with the robot was "meh". First game teams were fairly balanced - not in terms of skill, but class picks - , the others were 2 tank, 2 healer, 1 damage. Tanks just sat on the point while receiving heals and one dps shot from somewhere. Our team which was 1 tank, 2 damage, 2 healer couldn't get them off the point, even with JR spamming it with a bazzilion granades. Even the first game though I thought was a bit pants.

QP classic has now moved to the QP menu. Joined a game, 2 tanks and 2 healers were picked, so I would have had to play damage which I don't do, but I lost connection. Second game game was also meh. Wasn't 2 tank 2 heals, but wasn't particularly interesting.

OW1 felt more interesting. And adding the fact I'll have to play to get the other heroes - which I won't do it enough to do so if they're around tier 55 - I'll more than likely just uninstall it and forget about it. Not giving up on it just yet though, will try it for a bit longer.

7 wins as Support in Ranked from 7 games - Bronze 4... What the heck???

So effectively 2 bottom rank possible.....What is that all about??

This morning I played Ana and Sym. I've just logged in this evening and my only support options are Lucio, Mercy or Moira?!? Wtf?!? I think, as I have the battlepass, I'm supposed to have access to them all, so I'll assume it's just part of a bug and not worry too much. I see if you're completely new you unlock characters by playing non-comp games, which I guess makes sense. Make sure n00bs know how the game works then...

Mind you, then in a QP, got booted and seemed to be stuck in the queue with 300 ahead of me. I'll leave it until later I guess!

Was FSR enabled by default for anyone else?
Yeah, also had to enable 21:9 as I had black bars despite setting my res. Why you'd want independent control I don't know.

Not played since 2018 I believe so quite some time and I never did much in competitive. I enjoyed it, love playing Lucio the most and I don't seem to be terrible either.

I hadn't realised the Zarya change, I really like it. You can use two bubbles where ever you want. I just played a game where I was generally the front line, so would usually use them both on myself. If you have a Genji or Reaper causing havoc, you can use them both on them. A nice change that makes Zarya a little better.

I think I will quite like the daily and weekly challenges. Obviously, I play a lot, so it is nice I can have some targets of things to accomplish.

hit me up if you playing a few some time - would like to get back to playing a bit more

Managed 3 games since launch due to there DDOS issue etc, 3 games ive played were fab, like the tweaks and so far so good once you get into a game that is

Only managed a few games last night once I finally got in but really enjoyed it.

Despite being against it originally I think I'm gonna buy a battle pass for at least the first couple of seasons and see how I go from there. I was tempted with the watchpoint pack but that seems bad value, just some extra skins most of which I already have.

Yeah, I was a sucker for the 'beta access included in Watchpoint' deal

Is this queuing thing the norm, or part of the issues? I usually finish work at 5, jump on for a couple of games and then have dinner. I had 800 ahead of me, about 30 mins later and I still have 300 ahead of me  300 people? That's 30 games. How many games can one machine host? Blizzard, just get some more servers up!!!

I was getting queues of around 300-400 last night, but the problem is it kept disconnecting me and I had to start again.

On the plus side it was nice and smooth once I was finally in, hopefully they get on top of this quickly.

Zarya seems strong. Had her pinned against a wall with a RH ult while a winston was ulting her but mostly their 2 healers - ana and the new one -, winston dies ana proceeds to keep zarya alive with what looked like under a bar of health. Couldn't break through her shields. Also seemed like she was zapping me from further away, but they've not mentioned anything about increasing her range so maybe my imagination.

Probably just part of the botched launch. You'd get a queue on OW1 when everyone would try to rejoin - say maintenance and it'd just come back up, but other wise it would be fine. I had a queue of 300 earlier and it probably took 30 minutes to get it, but at least I got in. Yesterday the counter would go down, then it'd lose connection and I'd restart with a new queue. Rinse/repeat and I got fed up, happened to all 3 of us trying to play.
Also, *waves at fellow Barnet person*

Tried a couple of games last night, don't like it

They have changed Symmetra for the worse and she was one of my best characters

The game seems more fast paced now as well and I don't like it.

Part of the issue, there still on with fixing it fully. I booted it up tonight about 20 minutes ago, im still 700 in queue started at 1k. Im on PC any way so leave it doing it in back ground whilst i do other things. Its still rubbish have to do that mind
