Overwatch 2 is Official

tracer/sombra combos are annoying to play against tho cause i wanna play zen ffs
Sombra getting a nerf along with Dva/Zarya - Sombra is so OP at the moment - Played against a Sombra the other day who was literally off the charts good..... Couldn't get out of spawn hardly without one of the healers getting hacked/killed etc.
Agree Sombra/Tracer seem to be among the most common characters I've come up against.

Hadn't played Overwatch for a couple of years, but mostly enjoying playing OW2.
Only thing that seems a bit off is that it seems like damage is a lot more bursty now - so many times I've been killed and not even seen where from, let alone have time to do anything about it, and don't remember it being quite as harsh as that before.

Could be the new 25% reload speed passive buff DPS get after an elim. Bit more time to get more damage in.

Sojourn needs a nerf, her charge lingers for too long and she has mobility on too short a cooldown.

Zarya is getting a nerf which is a shame as i've been dominating on her but she is a little strong. Doom is terrible and needs a buff.

I want to love this, when you get it right the matches are fun but there doesn't seem to be much reward for the stress of doing well. The battle pass is meh and challenges are OK but if you only like to play a certain class and/or hero you're not getting much out of those either. I stopped playing OW1 a long while back but I was sure competitive had a bit more to it.

Poop. What are they doing? Longer cool down on her bubbles?

Sombra
  • Hack ability lockout duration reduced from 1.75 to 1.5 seconds
  • Hacked enemies are no longer valid targets for hacking for the duration of the effect
  • Hacked damage multiplier reduced from 40 to 25%
Genji
  • Maximum ammo reduced from 30 to 24
  • Shuriken damage reduced from 29 to 27
Zarya
  • Barrier duration reduced from 2.5 to 2 seconds
  • Barrier cooldown increased from 10 to 11 seconds
D.Va
  • Fusion Cannon spread increased from 3.5 to 3.75
  • Boosters impact damage reduced from 25 to 15

I tried to jump into this with friends.

6 minute wait times between games - this is with a group of 4 queued with a support.

Several games when zarya had us pinned down at spawn. Most games end up being zarya vs zarya. The entire team behind her both sides.

Before I get the getgud responses. Is this the current state of OW or was I unlucky?

I wouldn't say that's my experience of how games usually go, so possibly just unlucky. Not sure on the queue situation though as I usually queue solo as support, and I think there is a shortage of support, so I tend to get in nice and quick, but I sometimes see it up to 6 minutes estimated for tanks and dps.

Probably not uncommon in a group of 4. Having a support wont make it quicker as you're kinda waiting on the longest position queue, usually DPS. I remember in OW1 you would wait quite a while in a large group. A full 6 man was maybe quicker.

Queue times in OW2 are generally much shorter. OW1 it wasn't uncommon to queue for 8-12 minutes as DPS. I don't think I queue for more than 5 minutes or any role in OW2.

This might be related to playing in a larger group, others will know better as I usually play solo and this is quite uncommon. I remember in OW1, with large groups you often played against very orgnised groups and it could be quite tough. You'd join solo, the game would go great and people would say to stay as a team, but then you go against some really good teams and you get battered, so I stopped staying after good games and kept solo.

Zarya is currently very strong IMO, especially if you've got a half decent healer looking out for her. We had a game like this last night on kings road first point, up until my friend switched to Zarya with me as Zen, and even then we got lucky as he blew his ult only on her, died, but she was low enough for me to just about finish off.

Noticed Sombras hack seems to be bugged. The text seems to stay on screen much longer then you actually are hacked for.

If you can get a 5 stack - that helps - 4 is difficult and wait times can take a while if you need a dps/tank.

5 stacks usually get a game in 3/4 mins max.

Zarya is disgustingly strong at the moment.....100% needs a nerf.

Thanks for the feedback. I played back when overwatch launched. Had a fair few hours and zarya was strong back then also. You would think they would have learnt from the high win rates.

You need very specific setups to counter Zarya and even then it can be tough.

When playing solo I still see far too many players damaging her when bubbled which obviously leads to her melting the whole team.

Had a quick go of the Halloween event yesterday, and it was great fun. The effort put into it compared to the last 2-3 years (which felt like the same Junkenstein event with different characters) was a marked improvement. Makes me excited for the PVE portion.
