I'm just fooling around because all too often people make out that you can easily win any game by "just carrying" (checkout the many youtube videos etc) but really I know the situation you're describing - teams that won't talk at all, teams that won't form a proper comp etc. all leading to those pretty much unwinnable games for one side or the other

I know I said it loads of times but seriously, find ya self some kick ass dps players and add them. Most would be happy to team up with a really good moira. Plat is a really hard one to get out of playing solo unless you are a really good dps player.

You might even be better just trying to dps more with moira and less healing like we did the other day. On my sons old account which is now 2400 I still haven't lost a game going solo que 15 wins out of 15 games and I am just going full dps with brig just hunting down the healers playing completely out of position sitting out side their spawn room door and stuff.

I would have teamed up with you over the weekend but I guess you have been coming on late and me early. I just woke up and about to turn the game on now 4am lol.

Me and famas had a great run through gold going as duo. Hog-Brig just playing very aggressive.

Or, go LFG and make the group, specify what you want in the group title (must have mic, open profile etc) and just kick people that wont talk to you when they join.
 
Well seeing as the thread is active again I thought I would jump in and do my placement games for this season.

Finished 2100

Mainly been playing Moira and Lucio! So If people want to try arrange an OCUK night on the lead up to the holidays let me know. Happy to play Comp/QP anything really.
 
Yep, duo with imgyiny at the weekend and had some of the best games I've ever had playing overwatch. Makes a massive difference just playing with one other player calling positions and when to push etc.

Almost out of gold too. Try Harding to plat.

Like andy says use the lgf if solo queing. At least you can get some comms.

I wouldn't mind teaming up with you both at some point!? only if you didnt mind?

I mainly enjoy listening to a good shot caller and having FUN! And would be happy to learn what i can from a better player
 
Always up for teaming up with people.

I play a bit of quick play to warm up a bit before comp normally, death match is good also but it's random characters at the moment which I'm not keen on.

Yeah they were some great games, I was loving them massive brawls. I was loving the new Brig as well, she is just so obnoxious now you can just get right up in their face.
 
OK added both accounts Imginy. Cant play in the daytime - thanks to the day job but will try get on some point this week evenings to see who is about.
 
Ill jump on the bandwagon Woogie#2386 Currently around the 2530 mark and mostly play Rein, Ashe, Moira, Brig but can play others too. Have been trying to get to grips with Winston and Ana.

With regards to the comms thing, I have had some awful and brilliant games recently. The best have been everyone communicating, making calls and switching where required. The bad have been groups joining compet and staying in group comms rather than team comms then complaining that we lose. Others have been people not saying a thing then complaining when we lose a round about how XY or Z should be doing something else better.....Communicate during the round ffs even if it is via text.
 
Went with the theory of playing as a duo earlier and ended up similar to me and @imginy - played 2 or 3 together and we won them.

Then played another 3 with a superb Ana player and me as moira/brig/zen......kept the team so well healed and his sleeps/nano's were amazing.... Played 6 won 6 today.... :p:p

This game at times.....Enought to drive you nuts.
 
I have a tip for all you guys in the silver/gold/plat range that I think will help a lot.

While playing on my sons old account I have noticed that most matches just end up with players on both teams shooting at each others tanks. But tanks are the last thing you want to be shooting at as they can soak up 1000's of damage, this is there job, to soak up the damage, this gives the enemy healers lots of ult charge (making your next fight much harder) and this gives the enemy dps players time to kill you.

If instead you get your team to just ignore the tanks and go for the easy kills on the low mobility 200 health characters you will win the fight much easier and in turn the next one after that.

Don't be afraid to just ignore the tanks and chase down the high priority targets.

Not that I'm really qualified to dish out tips in the same way as yourself, but worth mentioning that the converse is true as well (if you're playing tank, which I mostly do) - try your hardest to force the enemy team to have no choice but to fight you to even have a chance at getting to the squishies... Some tanks seem to play as if their job is fragging out as well but leaping onto one of your dps as Winston or Dva and saving them with a bubble or a defense matrix makes a lot more difference than jumping at their backline constantly (particularly if they are reasonable at protecting their squishies)

My tip was more about kill priority and wasting damage than positioning.

What I was trying to say is there is no point shooting at tanks when there are other much easier to kill targets and shooting at a tank that is getting healed is wasting your shots.

Take rein for example, If you throw out your firestrike at an enemy tank the chances are he will just get healed and your damage is wasted and it hasnt helped kill anything.

But if you throw the firestrike at one of the 200hp characters it will either finish them off or make an easy kill for someone else.

There is some videos on kill priority on youtube that would explain it better.

My point was on my sons account I noticed most people just automatically going for the tanks first and are wasting a lot of damage that is just getting healed.
 
Been playing a lot of arcade this year, haven't really bothered with Comp besides from getting my placements and leaving it at that (Normally finish high gold/low plat) Usually I just main my boy rein but as i've been playing Arcade more and more i'm realising i'm pretty decent with Roadhog and reaper.

Comp lately for me has mostly been troll teams which leaves me frustrated and not wanting to play OW, I love playing OW it's fun which is why I just stick to QP and Arcade mostly now, Also got Christmas Zarya skin last night.
