Overwatch

Does booyaka even have a mic????

Last night with musty, I said "reaper flanking, I got this"

Anyway congrats to Musty for getting his first platinum badge!

haha to be fair I followed you up about 3 steps then realised if both healers went for a dive on him a few would melt in the choke.

I think it was calls like that which I made against your calls which rewarded me more SR per game ;)

2-2-2 is so much better.. finished 3567 last season and already up to 3890 just after 3 days of role que..

So nice to have consistent games with no trolls or triple/quad dps teams..

Being support main my brain can only play overwatch with 2-2-2..

3 times today come up against smurf accounts.

Doomfist twice (same account) - less than 20 hours total play time on account, 1 hour on doomfist total, gold rank, absolutely smashed the whole team around the map on both games - Couldn't get close to him at all.
45 and 48% total damage for his team.....

Then a widow who was either cheating or smurfing - can't work it out. 40 hours total on the account and finished the game with 84% scoped accuracy......:o:o

That scoped accuracy seems dodgy seeing as OWL pro players get around 50-55%. Saying that, that's against other pros which understand sight lines etc.

Maybe a GM widow could get stats like that against much lower ranked players but I would still be dubious.

A really good doomfist is a sight to behold though, isn't it? It's almost a pleasure to watch him obliterate your team. :D

So, what's the fashionable role to slate when your team loses?

Seems DPS are copping the worst of it in my games but its painfully obvious when people are not playing their normal roles, especially tanks and Sigma wannabes. Hopefully after a few weeks the SRs for each role will stabilise.

Sigma wannabes.

100% this - I've not touched him personally at all, so can't make comment on how he plays, however - it's clear as day to see so many BAD sigma players - literally moving around and playing like dps, trying to chase down people etc, instead of playing his role as a tank.

I've played Sigma a few times in comp and got positive feedback from my team... I very much focused on shield play, with damage a secondary priority... I felt it worked well playing a combined Rein/Orisa style, but with a more flexible shield. I was regularly sending and recalling it so it was normally about 10-20 meters in front, allowing us to continuously advance, while putting it in the face of a DPS on high ground when needed. He has the advantage over Rein that I can do medium range damage while I push forward behind my shield. I generally use save his absorb to save myself or a teammate, or swallow an ultimate... It has a long cool down, so I'm not using it without good reason... Don't know if that is the best tactic?

Who gets the blame? Had a bad Sigma the other day that everyone blamed. As a main tank, I'm heavily dependant on the healers; but everyone knows when the other team is winning the DPS battle. My SR is currently at a personal all time low, but I still find myself against a DF, Hanzo or Genji that single handedly destroys our entire team, and doesn't play at all like a silver player.

Hmm... I've been playing Sigma a lot as I'm a tank main and want to learn him before the "real" season starts...

The confusion I think stems from the fact that he can play either like a main tank or like an off-tank, and the situation people are pointing to above is when he needs to play the main tank role (usually because the other tank has picked an off-tank) but he's also playing like an off-tank... You get the exact same situation when you take any 2 off-tanks (Zarya/Hog/Dva) - no shield, team feels quite fragile despite being able to technically put out a lot of damage...

The opposite isn't so bad - if you have a main tank already (Rein/Orisa) and play Sigma like a main tank too you just have extra shield, which can work fine (you may lack a little damage if the Sigma player acts too passively, but he won't just die constantly and your dps can make up for it if they are high damage)...

Most of the games I've seen Sigma players mess up are when they go Sigma / Zarya - which is a great combo especially on attack, but the Sigma player really has to stay back and focus on shielding the team; let the Zarya get huge and do the off-tanking damage... any extra you can throw in with your orbs as an afterthought is great but don't chase after people at the expense of the team

Just my 2 cents, I'm doing okay with him though so must be doing something right!

my dps SR is nearly as high as my support SR.....maybe I've been playing the wrong role all this time......:p:p:p

Sym is broken since they patched her beam tracking - she so strong now. I had a pocket mercy yesterday as sym and we destroyed the other team with damage boost/full beam. Literally melted the other team at times.

Sym is great against double shields for charging beam and not losing ammo.

Not to worry though, the nerfs are coming to the PTR....
