According to the link I shared above, 3000 is the top 22%. Top 10% starts at 3500 SR. That said, I still take on board your comments. I think my main query about the difference in players across 2500 to 3000 is that individuals, like yourself and booyaka, play at both these levels depending on how you are doing at a given time. Similarly, my son plays more than I do and has managed to get to mid gold max,
The climb from 2500 to 3k would be easy for a highly skilled dps player all they need to do is get in a match and headshot every one with widow or hanzo. Which is why when you get to diamond the dps players are so good.
For someone like me climbing is a lot harder as its all about working on consistancy, personally I like to check my character stats mid/end season and see my win percentages for each character. I think it was last season I checked my winston and dva were only 33% winrate even though I feel Im good with them I stopped playing them as it obviously isn't working.
My other trick to climbing is working on a good defence, On 2cp with my symmetra play I stick turrets outside spawn room door at start and shoot the door and I can get tele up within first min. Even bad team mates can hold a point if they got a tele straight back.
After the first 50 or so games of this season my winrate for symmetra was like 85% which is what gets me to climb fast. (I was just using her on 2cp defence)
Once in diamond the symmetra gets a lot less effective turrets are shot instantly and tele gets shot by tracer.
You have to change the way you play as you climb. Now I'm in dimond it's more about enabling the dps players to do there thing and kill everyone.
