Strange how 'Islamic terrorism' wasn't a thing until quite recently. Strange also how early Muslims didn't randomly attack civilians in other nations. Even more strange to think that colonialism might have affected the Muslim mindset over generations.

What are you talking about? Extremism has existed for thousands of years and not just in Islam.
Terrorism/murder/war has and will always exist whether it is under the guise of religion or not.
It is definitely not a modern problem and no one here has a solution. It can only ever be minimised.
