Path of Exile 2

There's been a marked increase in loot dropping. It came a little too late for me to not be wasting a lot of time on the end of a3. When you get into the section with Alva, hoooly the difficult of those zones. Giant maps, packs everywhere, and they're all turbos. The 2nd last boss I bounced off many times, then the struggle to make it to the final boss. Think I died at least 50 times in this zone.

On the final map before final boss I checked the vendor - rare crossbow which increased my dps by 50%. Was much less of a struggle after that.

Everyone else in socials are reporting the same increased loot.

Struggling to summon the motivation to carry on half way through Act 2. Game is just so sloooooow - even with +movement speed modifier on gear. There is no way I could play this game every season ... it's just so tedious. Think I'll uninstall and check back in 2-3 months to see how things are.

I'm not expecting the speed to change all that much, it was a conscious decision by the devs to move away from the hyperspeed of PoE1 this time around, that much is clear from the interviews they gave talking about how they wanted it to be a slower experience this time. I guess it might get tweaked a little but I dont think its ever going to be the rapidity of movement and blitzing through zones like in PoE1

It's interesting when you get to Cruel difficulty, you can just start blitzing through the early areas. I had act 1 fully done in around an hour and half, you can see if you have the right build how you can shave massive amounts of time off already.

Minions are quite funny at times, I've got 7 reavers and 2 warriors at the moment, with flame wall/corpse explosion being cast for raging spirits and extra clear. You can get into situations where you can box the bosses into corners and really start hammering them, the smelter boss in act 3 was trying to run away to buff up and couldn't break through :D

They do a decent job at holding a line sometimes as well when you get swarmed and actual feel like decent meat shields when you've invested enough into defence. 25 deaths so far, which sounds a lot but really I think if you were patient enough then hardcore is definitely doable.

They'll definitely keep the speed much slower than PoE1 (thankfully) but I'm expecting them to indirectly speed up the game in some ways. Such as speeding up or tweaking animations to make it feel less clunky (therefore, more fluid/faster paced), reintroducing Quicksilver Flasks in some way, or/and giving classes better movement skills.

The game is unnaturally slow for lots of players as most builds suck because the game balance is out of whack, which is to be expected as it's early days. If you use a decent build, you can zip through acts in about an hour each. If you use a bad build, you might be in one act for hours.

I don't want a hyperspeed / loot pinata ARPG, either. But POE2 takes it to the opposite extreme.

Found 2 uniques while group play. The unique tattered robe and a wand
Found 1 while solo wanderlust boots
1 from orb of chance low level 2hand mace

Anyone else still havijg lockups during loading screen? I can move the mouse but nothing else. Have to do a hard reset to recover

I had a couple of lock ups and one crash today, but I find it refreshing, especially if you crash in a boss fight that you just load back in at the position you were rather than having to restart the whole fight.

Felt better today and not sure if it was just the area, towards the end of Act 1 that suited the Ranger more as there was space to move, rather than being pinned in a corridor.

Asmongold loves playing warrior melee builds and hates playing ranged characters, but even he gave up and switched to ranged

That tells that melee is broken in this game

Anyone got any uniques yet. Iam just at the castle and havnt had a single one yet.
Found one unique, for a class I wasn't playing. And I've only ever found one exalted orb, too. The drop rate of items needs to be increased substantially.

Part of the issue is the lack of flails, axes and swords so the range of skills available on that side of the tree is just maces which are big, slow and fairly powerful.

Once some of the other weapons become available I think there will be some pretty interesting weapon switching shenanigans to be had.

Also, if RNG is unkind ( which it often is in this game ) you can end up going 20+ levels without any weapon upgrade which means your DPS falls way behind. Passive skill boosts aren't sufficient to make up the gap.

yeah was pretty obvious the release state was awful, it's funny the amount of ggg apologists saying it was fine and then ggg already starting the buffs so fast

Looks like drop rates may have been buffed as I haven't had a support gem in ages but this morning got 4 in an hour (might have just been luck)
Support gems / skills are pretty weak, for the most part, in this game thus far ( could be different at tier 2+ ). What we need is a significant boost in exalted orbs, regal orbs and white base items to craft from. This patch is a beginning, I guess, but my gut feeling is it's barely going to move the needle.

yeah my fear is they want to keep the current crafting systems in place for a while. They can up the drop rates of some currency but at it's heart the entire crafting system is just an RNG number roll. Removing bench crafts to allow at least some form of base level of power was really bad

Tbh after having completed the "cinematic" playthrough of the first 3 acts, going into just not caring about story & podcast-gaming a reroll, it's much better. Being able to buy some nicely rolled gear cheaply (as opposed to the lame random exalt slams I did initially) is also a big help. There's a lot to say, imo PoE2 is a clear failure in terms of addressing a lot of the objectives/pain-points they were initially targeting for a sequel (to say nothing of the endgame which is way, way worse, but fixable), but I cba with the 10000 word essaying right now.

Fun tidbit, if you have fire dmg on your bow and you use Gas Arrow you don't even need flamewall to explode it. Pretty cool!
