I'm assuming your last ascendancy points are going into Valako for the endurance charge synergy? If so you're going to get WAY tankier when you get that. Also pairing it with Immortal Cry is great
If you haven't already I'd suggest binding Enduring Cry to left click. That way it will auto cast while you're moving. Makes managing uptime way easier

Install Path of building, community. Import your character. You can plan your tree and it will show how adding nodes affects your stats, damage, etc.

End game is basically grinding for upgrades, be that via looting, crafting or buying, on ever tougher maps and bosses.

Just did a heist and got the following

2x Unique
2x Chaos Orb
2x Orb of Regret
1x Orb of Scouring
2x Regal Orb
5x Vaal Orb
1x Exalted Orb

To say I was nervous on the escape would be an understatement, I know Exalted orbs are quite rare and valuable, not how I wanted to see my first one drop knowing I had to finish the run to keep it!

Cant really mess up permanently, can respec your whole tree with enough orbs of regret.

See if you can find someone running the same build and have a look at their tree.

it is a very overwhelming game and a lot of stuff isnt explained, id suggest looking up some beginners tips video on YT even if you already know most of it there might be something that helps
the best thing to do is find a good beginner friendly guide on the POE forums and follow that through, they often have a levelling section that tells you what to use and when etc

ive played a few leagues over the seasons, currently 350 hours according to steam and im still learning new stuff

Guys I've been playing for like 7 years and have well over a few thousand hours playing and I STILL don't know jack about some things.
Game works on an "if you want to know then you'll learn" mindset

It’s true, I’ve played since beta and still find its down to luck on making currency sometimes for me. I’m amazed at how people amass fortunes within a day or two.
My best luck has been my first character in Delirium league where a tabula rasa dropped for me in the first act caves near the crab boss and then an Unnatural Instinct jewel in act 7 which I got 16 exalt for. Other times I’ve struggled for weeks. Never had more than 45 exalt in a league!

The wiki and Reddit is definitely your friend for understanding mechanic interactions etc

Also, the trade site is doing my nut this league, it's constantly out of date with things up for sale that were sold hours ago. Usually that issue is resolved by now.

I'm on maps currently level 82 or 83 doing tier 2, although I could do a few tiers higher I'm taking it slow.

The main thing I don't know is crafting, I understand the basic prefix/suffix etc but I need to learn how the different systems work together and what stats are good/bad. Then there's the things like purple ring shaped items (prophecy) I've got no idea about and other random items that drop saying their for something which I have no idea about.

The skill tree isn't as bad in comparison, like someone said I can reference another cyclone build and add on to it. I mostly hate vendoring items wondering if their any good, all I check atm is whether their low tier rolls. For example I have a pair of rare boots with 2 resistance and life all tier 1 rolls but I don't know how to add more prefix/suffix to the item other than crafting (limited to 1 craft unless multi modding which isn't ideal or possible yet).

I also have an exalted orb from yesterday and am almost afraid to use it thinking I'll waste it on something bad.

Something I learned the hard way after wasting a lot of currency. Unless you're SSF you are under no obligation to understand the first or last thing about crafting. You're often better off just saving up to buy what you need.
A lot of the proper crafting requires you to know about multiple systems (influence, affix types, item levels, harvest crafting, awakener orbs, etc etc) and to already have a lot of currency sat around ready to make something incredible

I'm currently trying to make a pair of boots where I already have Lightning resist enough to keep me capped, #% chance to gain elusive on crit and Tailwind on crit but with a mana roll I need to get rid of and move speed that's way too low + no life roll
To finish that I'm going to need a bunch of targeted harvest crafts and to gamble on at least one attempt at harvest crafting while the boots have suffixes cannot be changed meta mod.
If all of that means nothing to you then you get the idea

All said, I don't NEED those boots. I have some with life, resists, 30% move speed and a good enchant and I've been wearing those since week one and they've carried me all the way through endgame content no issues

Had about 6 this league, most I have ever had drop, seems quite a rich league for currency.

Never had a mirror in over 1000 hours played though.

How do I get 3 red and 1 green or blue socket on boots? I've spammed through my currency and can't get it. I've got reroll 2 red via crafting but that isn't helping and costs 25 per turn.

Not sure if you know this but if you loot things and haven't triggered the alarm you can go back to the starting area (not harbour) and then all the loot becomes normal and you won't lose it if you die once you go back in.

What base type are they?

If they are armour only, then 3 red and a green/blue should be reasonably easy.

If they are Energy Shield boots for example, then it will be much harder to get that combination as they’re intelligence based, so whilst still possible, you will burn through chromatics like nobodies business.

Armour (strength) only = favours red sockets
Evasion (dexterity) only = favours green sockets
Energy shield (intelligence) only = favours blue sockets

Armour/evasion = will be easier to get red/green
Armour/ES = will be easier to get red/blue

etc

Hope that makes sense.

Otherwise, look at this guide if you need to get ‘off colour’ combinations for your armour. Off colour being, say, all blue sockets on a strength/armour base item, it tends to be cheaper for 4-socket items, but chromatics are still better for 5+ as the costs go a bit mad for Jewellers Orbs then.
You’ll need some of the crafting recipes from early delve areas to get some more socket crafting options.

i think ive had 2 exalts drop this league, which i traded for chaos and ended up wasting

everytime i get a unique drop that looks interesting i check poe trade only to find its worth 1c
are there many uniques that are actually worth a lot? i know the belt you got was

Yeah I know about the armor type RNG I used the Vorici calculator to get the odds which was estimated around 126 attempts, but I've gone over 250. I know theres a craft 3 red for 125 Chromatic Orbs but I don't have that plan.

Spent 800 chrom last night trying to get the right bow sockets. Was a bit silly as the calc estimated about 5000 tries. Ended up selling it and buying one with the right sockets.

yeah one thing to note is the value of the currency your using.. 7 chromatic orbs are worth 1 chaos so using 800 chromatic is the equivalent to 114 chaos.. was it worth that? lol
normally if i use more than around 50 and dont get what i need i call it quits and just buy the item
