Path of Exile(diablo clone)

Nah, think the races are an all or nothing thing. Some of the rewards look cool but the amount of points relative to how much you can get from each event means you'll really have to do lots.

Yesterday was having a laugh on my Summoner instead. Bought a Doedre's Damning so I could run 3 Curses (Frostbite, Elemental Weakness and Critical Weakness) alongside my Summons while my friend on Ice Witch just nuked everything (Ice Nova for large mobs, Ice Spear for general use and boss killing). We were destroying stuff for the most part. Specially when I got the second Spectre and we were going through Solaris with 2 Fire Ribbons assisting with massive fireball spam.

Is it your regular attack dps that's down or your skill dps? And which skill/supports is it using if its the latter.

Cos damage wise, your old bow was doing 42-195 and your new bow is 48-178 so your average will be a bit lower ignoring damage nodes (and attack speed cos they're so similar).

I would've expected with elemental nodes you'd do more damage than before, depending on how many physical damage ones you took along the way.
And skills like Lightning Arrow take a portion of your physical damage and convert it to Lightning don't they? So if you deal more physical damage and you have 1 of those '30% Weapon Lightning Damage' nodes your old bow would have dealt not only more lightning from the straight up damage but more from the converted lightning damage too.

But don't quote me on that cos I'm at work so can't check things :p

yes the skills convert ~50% physical dmg to the whatever dmg the skill is.
but all numbers are down on both skill dmg and normall attack dmg weird.
to make things worse it had 1 slot on it and i used 1 jewelers orb and now it's got 6, but only 4 are linked. :(

to add the dps info of the skill shows me that i only lose 30dps, but i always felt these numbers are screwed by using i.e. lightning arrow and i don't think the ae dmg is calculated with it.

but i might just bump up the quality of the bow and see what happens. :)

Thats the good thing about physical damage, at least its obvious whether or not its going to increase :p Until you start messing around with damage vs crit anyway...

Bought a decent dps Claw yesterday. Way higher level than me and there is always the chance that I can find something better in the mean time but its about 100-225 damage for lvl62 or something so a worthwhile investment if nothing else. I just hope I'm not still using my ~70 average damage claws by that point ><

The only problem with 1H weapons is your only option for links above 4 is your chest piece which can get seriously expensive... Currently limited to 4 links on my Gloves with Dual Strike - Life Leech - Increased Critical Damage - Increased Critical Strikes which is nice. Problem will come when trying to attach a Melee Physical Damage and Faster Attacks mod to it.

So why are you searching for an elemental bow with that much physical damage? O_o

You're talking an 80% boost to physical damage, no wonder your old bow was stronger :p

Bah, I'm almost out of scrolls of wisdom of all things! I'm farming for currency because I have become obsessed with linking the 5 sockets on a 2H mace I found (which is only a white plated maul, but hey, obsession) so I need about a billion orbs of fusing. Selling unidentified blues gives only two shards of transmutation, so it would take 160 blues just to get one orb of alteration. Identified blues normally give at least a couple of shards of alteration, so it's obviously much better to identify them when farming for currency.

But I'm down to ~40 scrolls of wisdom now. Is there an easier way of getting more than horribly tedious farming whites and hauling them to waypoints a few at a time (to avoid using up portal scrolls)?

Perhaps not what you want to hear but I would suggest simply levelling. There is a decent chance you will find an appropriate weapon as you level and you might well find other items you can sell (whites with multiple linked slots, etc.). I think you might well get what you want faster that way, and its certainly more fun.......

I am also running a elemental bow build (was doing it with a templar but now rolled a shadow). I have 2 bows, one adds more lightning but has less physical damage, the other is opposite, more physical but less lightning. Should I go for the one with more lightning rather than physical considering i am using lightning arrow and ice shot as my main skills??

Also, I am only around lvl 35 (have re-rolled like 4 times over lol) but if anyone wants to group up and or chat, my in game name is FrictionX, add me :D

Find/buy Portal is about your only option. That way you can just loot everything that hits the ground and port back to sell it. Not exactly cheap though.

Aren't item drops limited by map level rather than player level? I'm L57, but I'm not getting anything above L50 items because that's the highest map level in cruel difficulty. Well, there's the Catacombs at L53, but that's it.

I'm not really up to fighting Piety on cruel at the moment, so I'm not really up to moving to merciless difficulty.

Because every ele ranger uses it. An ele ranger us mainly in the strength region on the tree so it would be pointless not using the 1 point to get iron grip :)

Depends i ran with a high physical bow up until like lvl65, which evilsod now has ;) because i couldnt find any better. If you've taken all the elemental nodes which i guess you having judging by your current lvl then id take the ele bow otherwise take the physical one for now.

Or do what i did and test both and see which one seems to kill stuff faster :p
