Oh I know, I hit 31, could finally equip Spell Echo and Faster Casting and thought "Wonder what this is like with a 6l Tabula" and equipped it. It was getting painful towards the end of Act 3 Cruel where I'd be running forwards, and almost explode when a group of Tentacle Miscreations would open up on me. Act 3 Merc its getting to the point where I need to pay some attention to it. Its a low priority at the moment. I'll sort the character out at some point. I only jumped on it the other day because I was waiting for traders to come online for a reasonably priced Chin Sol.

My attention is all on my BA Marauder atm. Took down Piety last night, couple of worrying close calls along the way. Really need to pay attention to what Nemesis Modifiers elites have. Killed a Whipping Miscreation boss over the corpses of about 6 others... it revived everything when it died and of course they all attacked me at the same time. If I hadn't been maintaining 6 Endurance Charges they would have instagibbed me... survived with about 15% health left, pressed basically every flask I had and ran away!

Zana daily lvl71 map. Thought I'd run back to the Voidspawn of Abaxoth I skipped and run off if it was too tough. It spawned Abaxoth who near enough instagibbed me :(

Anyone stil playing this?

Tried Diablo but did not like it compared to this so came back (been around a 4-6 month break) and is it just me or have they removed resistances from the talent trees?

If so where is resistance? What do you do with it?

Logged out confused but will log in with more time later and redistribute my points but need to know about resistances!

A lot of resistance and max res have been removed / moved so you'll have to get it on gear instead. Saying that i think the temp leagues are pretty dead right now with the new act due to be released in april i think

Check some of the armour/evasion/es nodes, they are combined with resists in some places now

That was rampage league, you can still get rampage with shadows & dust gloves, possibly other items too.
 
So last night in the current race 1month , I had my first 6l armour. (ornate mail ilvl50):)

What , are my options, sell, develop it, hold it for dear life?

Also, wth are those torment spirits about?

Is it a good base for the build you are playing? If so then you can probably use it.

Pretty much if they walk over some random mobs they will increase the amount of items they drop. They can also enter a rare mob and buff it making it stronger but also making it drop more/better loot. Its best to try and bait them into big packs but the movement of them was really annoying and they often just ran into walls.

That is my experience with them..I always play HC so never come across them before.

I'm a crit dagger-static strike +shield/HoA / evasion ranger, so although it's not entirely suitable,I'll craft it into high res and life mods .
 
Probably could make it work then. Might be able to sell it for a decent amount this early in the league though. But a 6L is nice.
 
So, the expansion (Act 4) has been released as a Closed Beta for now. Top tier supporters, and streamers are in, and there's a random lottery for everyone else?

How do you guys feel about this? Personally, I don't mind what GGG are doing, but I feel slightly mislead.
I'm sure I read that Act 4 would be released imminently, after the last challenge leagues ended in April. So I've been biding my time, trying not to play much PoE as I didn't want to be burnt out when Act 4 did get released. Just feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth to be waiting so long, and then they release it to a select few. I wish they would have pre-warned us, so I didn't get my hopes up.

Having spat my dummies out of the pram above; I do like the changes that I've read about. The new jewels offer more end game customisation, and 9 additional bosses should make it a very interesting Act.

What are everyone else's opinions on the changes? Has anyone made it into the beta?

I read a lot of PoE news and I didn't see anything saying that it would release after the last challenge leagues. The expansion isn't even ready yet. They are still adding gems and the desync fix will be added in 1-2 weeks so im fine waiting.

I like the look of it though, zones look nice, I like that they are adding a lot of new bosses but most excited for the new zone changes. It looks a lot faster and easier to go through the zones now, like submerged passage only having 1 level and solaris temple
being a bit more linear.

They are doing random leagues too, like a 5Day no trading one going on now, where the top 35 players get a beta key so you could always just play in that while you wait. And they are adding one soon that has all the previous leagues which should be pretty chaotic. I'll definitely be playing that one.

You can pay for access to closed beta now. $30 for a supporter pack that contains a beta key. I try and buy micro-transactions now and again, to support GGG, so happy to part with the cash for access. Downloading the client now :)
 
so I bought into the beta the weekend before last and played quite a bit since the last patch.

I have to say the new gateways (Frankfurt, London, D.C, California) along with Lockstep made the game a lot better. I now have ~25ms ping and no desync what so ever :)
 
I've not played the beta since the last wipe, so not had chance to try out lock step etc.

Really enjoying the softcore Flashback league though, especially at the weekends when all the league mods get enabled. I have to drop back a few zone levels to survive, but it's great fun :)
 
Aaaaaaaaaaand RIP level 50 hardcore character.

Desync - move 2 screens back to the centre of a +Physical damage pack - pop granite flask and 3 health flasks - dead.

Think I'm out of hardcore til the new expansion hits and I can try lockstep.
 
One of my favourite games this, absolutely desperate for act 4 to come out now though. Hit a wall with some of my characters in standard and with no league to play in its a bit pants. Really enjoyed the flashback league
