*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

Best case scenario, stripped from boxed retail copies in BRIC countries, where prices are set much, much lower (or they'd never sell anything).

Worst case, bought as gifts with stolen cc details, then the region doesn't matter, but the key is highly likely to be revoked.

The other worst case is that you get a region locked game that only works in Brazil/Russia.

The fact that there are these "bad" possibilities - that only exist in on grey market sites, not Steam or the authorised resellers - should tell you all you need to know about the validity of these prices.

The Witcher 3 for example is about £20-£25 in all the legit places. How do you sell it at £12 and still make a profit? I wonder...

Nonsense, 860 games from keysites and none removed by steam ! nothing wrong with keysites.

Another one with a 980ti, so clearly money to spend, who won't support the developers by paying what they ask for their games.

Congratulations.

If you're using G2A, etc, you might as well torrent them, tbh. If you're not going to pay the asking price, why pay anything at all?

I think if seeing deals on this thread upsets you this much you best avoid the Daily Deals Thread. I don't think you'll be able to convince people that they stop being frugal with their money and pay the Steam, EA, etc sticker price.

I've nothing to add, but just wanted to say I agree with you as you seem to be on your own. :)

Not that avoiding shady key sites means paying steam prices, there is a middle ground with legit key sellers, which is where I generally shop aside from the odd steam sale.

Probably wasting your time though tbh, most people don't care as long as they get the best deal for themselves. :(

C'mon Fox, your PC crusade isn't going to cut it. Both sides have valid points, there are no right answers or opinions in this situation, just move on.

Video Gaming is pretty much up there as one of the most profitable industries and PC gaming is making a resurgence, so obviously grey market sites aren't causing any harm.

Well, is it more healthy to give one developer £40 if that's all you can spare for video games, or 4 developers £10 each? I think you'll find a lot of grey site customers pay the same amount in to the industry as those who buy from Steam/GMG. They just walk away with way more games to never play. :D

Haha class.

You've already demonstrated your class, by saying that you couldn't care less if developers go out of business, due to grey market sites hurting their sales.

Class, indeed.

If you could have got your GTX980ti 1/2 price, from a "dodgy" seller (likely "fallen off the back of a lorry" stuff), would you do it?

Haha, enjoy paying FULL PRICE for steam games for the rest of your life lol. And actually I got a great deal on my hardware :) And tbh Mr Fox I couldn't care less how "class" people on this forum think I am, its just text on the net end of the day.

Er, nope. There are other legit places to go; you don't need to buy direct from Steam.

Yeah I don't pay the Steam price either. But there are tons of authorised resellers.

The difference is auth resellers are doing Witcher 3 for £22, grey market sites for £12.

Even if Steam is selling it for £50, the "real" price is £22 that the auth sites are charging.

Steam prices are so bad, this is an example of why I have never bought a game direct from steam. I just bought

The Raven Legacy of a Master Thief Deluxe Edition from g2a - £0.83 pence
Steam price for the same game digital deluxe edition - £24.99 !!!!!

I mean come on lol, 860+ games from keysites, 0 from steam

860+

? :)
