Peeometer test for men, are we fully hydrated?

Aye. Also the reason pee will commonly be clear the morning after a drinking binge. You're dehydrated (commonly the main cause of the hangover) but its still pretty clear because alcohol is also a diuretic. They're both fairly weak ones though IIRC.

rather not, i have enough of that with the project I'm doing atm on the renal unit :(

/edit: and Gilly, yeah they are fairly weak in the grand sceme of things, but can have a significant effect - as your hangover analagy is testament to

I find drinking my own urine (I've not been able to persuade other people to part with theirs) to be an agreeable way of rehydrating.

I now drink ~4 litres of water a day and I feel a hell of a lot better for it. If my urine isn't as clear as a fresh mountain stream I knock back about a litre of water ;)

But isn't that going from one extreme to the other? Aren't you in danger of "drowning" yourself in you drink too much water - diluting the chemicals in your blood and causing an imbalance?

I'm currently hydrating myself before going for a run :) Will use the pee-o-meter to check all systems are operating at peak efficiency.

4 litres a day isn't too much, in fact it can be not enough on really hot days like we had over the weekend there. If I was drinking over 6 or 8 litres a day then I'd maybe start to worry but 4 litres over a day is about right. I just drink whenever I'm thirsty.

I rarely drink anything and I'm never thirsty :(

Which means I should just make myself drink as I know I have to. 4 litres seems so much

Highlighted the last bit. You got it spot on. You should never force your self to drink more water than your body requires. You will know when you're dehydrated, only because of the colour of your urine but when you're thirsty. Keep a glass of water beside you and when you feel like you need a drink, drink that.

Although for Scott Salisbury, this doesn't appear to be the case :p

I feel thirsty most of the time! Perhaps I've got diabetes and don't know it.

Some people mistake thirst for hunger at times. If you feel hungry quite often, try drinking about half a litre of water and see how you feel.
