Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

Well if you print ABS do it in a well-ventillated area or use an extractor like^. Mine was in my small room with me and suddenly I got an attrocious sore throat and horrible taste in my mouth. It's pretty toxic.
That's good to know, I didn't know about that actually, I do have a window right next to where I'd most likely put it anyway so sure I could rig up something with that dryer pipe stuff and a 120/140mm case fan

I kind of disagree as I used to have lots of old hard drives with lots of useless junk on them all that been built up over many years of downloading & saving crap

Like I plug in one these old hard drives and have 50,000 files of crap like 20 year old versions of winzip, win rar, nero etc

Yes better to clear that stuff out. Most of my storage is home vids, astro image raw data and backups for all the PCs I have. One of the NAS's is simply a backup for the other one.

Needs a good tidy up!

I bet you wish you done that well before now!! Great setup :)

Thanks
I never wanted the guest room to be an office but the C word has forced my hand. It certainly is easier working from home now.

Some great setups here, makes mine look rather boring. I was going to go for a desk that had a keyboard shelf and bookshelf built in but looking at the photos they were all like 8000 piece jigsaws with individual bits of mdf.
The desk I got came in 2 large pieces with 2 table legs and a few screws, much easier

New'ish chair, plants and put the ugly printer in a cupboard:

So elegant. So clean and all that hi-fi black. Love it. Looks like a great place to work. Minimalistic but oozes so much elegance.

To utilise our space better, I decided to get rid of our office downstairs and make it into a more kid orientated room. PS4 etc in there for the two older kids, youngest has all his toys in one room.

We have a large, fairly wasted space upstairs on the landing so I moved my setup up there. My other half who was also in the office, and a keen gamer, was then moved to what we call the snug. Gaming wasn't the same with us split up so I decided to go to Ikea and sort her a desk.

£500 odd quid later buying desk, chair, monitor etc...

I can't believe how everything just fits so well, obviously I measured prior to getting the desk but to get one that matched the width, height and length perfectly was surprising.

I'm really happy with the look, she just needs some accessories for her desk now. I'm setting her up a mini PC so she has something to use other than her Chromebook at the desk.
We both WFH regularly so another desk is handy.

Also, I can't believe how poor the quality Ikea desks are now. I first bought my Galant 7 years ago, it's so well made. The ones now are so poor and cheaply made. I know it's Ikea but still, bring back the Galant and it's robustness!

Love this little crib you've got going here. Very cosy. :D

The personal and work station for the next 12 weeks at minimum.

Another elegant one.

Took a couple snaps this morning of my setup now I've added the new Sonos and the little succulent.
