Please do not stop!

I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to acquire myself a new body next year, partly just because and also because my D5000 doesn't really like having the ISO upped. Still, loving the getting shot of my kit 55-200 VR & replacing it with a Tamron 70-300 VC. Had to visit the local airfield for their air day to get my monies worth..

Some good shots there :) That lens definitely seems better than the Canon 75-300mm thing I borrowed off my mate for my first airshow!

Most of the shots you've put here seem to be planes flying left or right but there's more variety in your album. Personally I try to post a varied collection of shots in the vain hope of keeping people interested but I'm far from an expert lol.

Most of the shots seem a little dark to me but not by much. I guess that could just be a result of processing?

For this latest airshow I constantly had my exposure compensation between +.5 to +1.5 in some cases. It means you need to process to dark the skies later but it gives you more room to manoeuvre when trying to recover details from the dark sides of planes.

A few more!

25 - It's hard to get anything original looking from the Wingwalkers but the light kinda helped here

26 - The Catalina is pretty cool to me for some reason :) I like the big Perspex bubble on the side for spotters

29 - The cloud helps in a way since it's quite disorientating! I could almost me flying alongside them a little higher

It's a huge improvement over the boggo kit lens that came with it, the extra reach is nice but the focus speed is much more noticeable. Certainly getting more in the way of keepers but practice/patience is helping with that too.

Any darkness is going to be a combination of shooting without really playing with the exposure & not having a stellar monitor. Learning, learning, learning!

Some more Vulcan love, magnificent bit of kit.

A few more shots processed - all from the Arrows. First time having shot them with this lens so it's fun to see what it can do :)

Having so many fast planes to track definitely kept me busy and the extender requires a bit of 'planning ahead' to use as you can't just flick it in/engage it when you like. The extender shouldn't be engaged when you're potentially zooming/focusing etc so I tend to wait a few seconds after having taken a few shots

Like your post processing wish id shot mine as well

Thanks :)

I like that second shot with the arrows passing and the two planes in front but it's a shame you couldn't get a bit wider to get them both in a bit better. Wide lenses aren't really what you have on at an airshow though!

Here's a few more shots from Shoreham

Still got a lot that I haven't sorted lol :|

Two Typhoon shots :)
