The Second Cartie Race down Brechin High Street is on today so popped out to take a few photos of the practice runs as I'll be otherwise engaged at the football today.
One from Saturday. Taken with a Fuji X-T1 and a hazy Sigma 300mm. Using MF whilst trying to change aperture on the fly all whilst trying to pan smoothly at 1/180 and dealing with the EVF blackout was "fun".
Thanks Jester. took around 1300 shots on the day so still a few to go through. i really struggled on the day with slower shutter speeds for panning trying to get the older propeller planes not to look like they were frozen. Defo more practice needed on that. I was ok with shutter speeds down to about 1/320th but anything lower I struggled to get sharp images. The red arrows were much easier for me.
Thanks, the conditions were super bright with the strong sun in my face. The official Red Arrows commentator was right next to us at RAF Valley's sports field, so he informed the families in advance of the next routine. But it was still fun, as we didn't know what to expect.
