Today was my first real attempt to take some wildlife shots with my new camera & lens (cheers Stu), 99% of them are utter tat of course but I lucked out on a few which are passable, for me -

I think working on keeping everything steady and supporting the lens with whatever is available and learning to read the camera meter to get exposures right has helped me.

They're lovely mate, how do you get them so clean & crisp?
 
Nicely captured, looks like a pochard (according to Collins Bird Guide - I don't know a lot about wildfowl). Lens looks like a winner.

Thanks, indeed it is. Visited the London Wetlands Centre for this. Quite a variety of species. Easy to identify all the males, another thing identifying some of the females that I captured :p
