Picked up a LG OLED55B6V

I am not a fan of curved either, although saying that if the curvedness doesn't bother you, then the C6 is a very attractive price.

Just remembered this morning that I have an employee advantages discount at certain retailers, checked and can get 7% off Currys, just have to buy the face value of an e-voucher with 7% off so should be stackable with any sales discount if there are any.

there awesome bits of kit headrat :D

i have the perfect B6 panel guess i won the lotto on that
been binge watching troll hunters on netflix and WOW the picture quality is memorizing :D

the firmware updates have been good also but bit slow imho.... most of the issues/niggles are fixed now incl HDR movie stuttering.....
the only thing we need now is the HDR input lag game mode fix.... though its coming and should be out soon as the other panels already have had there firmware updates for it.......

even so been playing ps4 and xbox one s and there still quite enjoyable when played even without the fix in hdr mode :) for instance forza horizon 3 looks epic and plays fine ........

the main issue you will face probably will be panel lotto... main thing to watch out for is screen uniformity.....and keep a eye out for any stuck/dead/ pixies :D

to be honest OLED is the future and can only get better... i will never go back to LCD never ever again these panels are in a league of there own....

This is on my shortlist for a new TV, maybe this week, don't know if I can justify the £1000 extra for a 65" over a 55" though. Other's on the list are a Samsung UE65KS8000 or KS9000. Currently have a 40" Sony where the new TV would go, vieing distance is 86".

You should look at the LG OLED range i will not go back to LCD now :)

It is the front runner, just trying to decide if I would be happy with 55" over 65", I'd probably be happier with £1000 more in my pocket though, gives me the extra money to buy a UHD player and a 5.1 system as well though, lol.

Sounds like a plan you could get a panasonic 4k UHD player for £300 and spend the rest on a 5.1 setup ;)

Same here. Would love the 65 but I think 55 is more realistic.

Got the tv up and running and trying the Amazon app in 4K HDR mode and when setup looks fantastic but switching between 4K HDR and non 4K HDR modes it seems to forget the settings for HDR, does anyone know how to solve this?

It's a very annoying bug with the Amazon App. You have to set the colour gamut manually each time. Very annoying as I've been watching The Man in the High Cattle recently which looks stunning but changing the settings for each episode is annoying.

Go for the 65"! 65" looks much bigger than 55" and UHD players are going to drop rapidly in price over the next year or so. As for sound - always go 2nd hand with speakers as they drop in price quick but, unlike video, things move slow in sound world. You can get great bargains if you shop about. I always go big on the panel and scrape the rest together and have only ever regretted not going bigger :D

Ah thanks, what a pain the the backside, apart from that it's a fantastic tv. Perhaps they will fix it eventually.

If it's displaying HDR, the colour gamat should be 'normal'

You would think it should be 'wide', but HDR already uses wide colour gamat and therefore 'normal' is already wide!
