You are being called a liar as it is unheard of that an 18 y/o could get insurance for £800 on anything let alone something "modded" without bending the rules.

At 18 it cost me £1,300 for comprehensive insurance on a 1.8 Focus. Stock.

Adding your dad removed £100s? Bull.

Its a hatchback that is popular among younger drivers and is no doubt on the list of cars that are harder to insure than others.

I add a female Paramedic to my insurance and it makes next to no odds.

Heck just check my posts on this forum, i bet i've posted plenty about my civic before.

We do not particularly care that you had the car or not, for all intent and purposes even if you did not have it and someone else did the insurance figures you are quoting do not add up.

Coupe versus Hatchback it not the difference between Insurance and No Insurance on a car modified like that.

Did Mother or Father own the Insurance company?

When someone claims they have a perfectly legit insurance policy on a car that is modified to the hilt at 18 in the face of 1,000s of people who would be happy paying that on a bog standard hatchback of half the caliber.

You think you can preach your insanely low insurance like the OP will be able to achieve the same and let on not one thing other than "I did"?

Almost all of us have complimented the car and we have the OPINION, based on ENDLESS experience/facts/market state that he will struggle to insure it.

Nobody is wishing ill luck on him, but if anything preparing him that he may well not be able to insure it. More power to him if he can.

You seem to be the exception to the rule that, apparently, means everyone can be the exception.

I am happy for him, nice car and if your going to get destroyed on the insurance you may as well get something bullet proof and that looks half decent.
