Pics of my new car!

Hmm I'd rather drive around in a hot pink (it's not actually pink that's just the camera) Fiesta playing the barbie song while dressed as barbie herself than pay 9k for a boggo Clio.

Get down the CAB, solicitors, wherever and get this deal killed off.

Well it annoys me because he does work hard for his money and he's not a bad person yet he does this to himself. He clearly deserves better than paying brand new price for a car that old! I also guarantee that the car is in a poor state of service as most crapcraft cars are.

How do you know his car is in a poor state of service just because he bought it from carcraft?

I'd have thought that for them to justify any kind of finance deals on these terms they will have been quite attentive to service schedules and ensure it has been through an x point test etc.

You can't sell outrageous finance and not have some kind of selling point. I doubt very much that any car that leaves a place like this is in bad condition. Infact, from the pictures and what he has said it looks to be in very good condition.

The fact that the car has crappy generic hubcaps leads me to think the opposite. Car Craft's USP is prying on those who are so deparate to have a new car that they'll financially ruin themselves. There's been loads of horror stories with such supermarkets, not including the finance!

Pictures can be misleading, my car looks mint in some pics where in fact it is far from it :p A crap low res image shows you nothing about the cars condition. I bet I could go round it and find about £500 worth of work on it to bring it up to a very good standard. I bet it has no name tyres as well...

The selling point is exactly what James07 was suckered by.

YOU CAN HAVE A NEWISH CAR!! ON CREDITZ!1!!11

I won't say any more on this particular issue as the internet is a litigous place but.. perhaps play with google..

This.

It's also a safe option of buying a car, not much can go wrong as long as you part the cash.

How can you agree with his statement, which says there are loads of horror stories, then go on to say its a 'safe option of buying a car'?

It's not a safe option of buying a car AT ALL, Tommy B.

It's for those who go OMG I WANT A CAR NAOW!!1! and don't actually shop around for the best deal and are quite happy to hand over mental amounts of cash for a substandard car because they don't know better.

I have been googling these guys and looking at so many bad experiences with them it’s untrue. I knew they weren’t the best but had never really looked into it. Not just the price or credit deal but the mechanical conditions of the car.

However, if the car is immediately faulty/dodgy as some of the posts say then the new owner probably has the option to sue the finance company who are ultimately responsible or potentially should be able to return / reject the car and get out of the deal.

Equally the dealer is responsible for repairs in early days of ownership, not just relying on some warranty.

It is unfortunate companies like CarCraft can exist. Whilst I will still stand by my earlier posts, where I have tried to be a bit more balanced about the whole situation I am happy to agree with you guys that it wasn’t the best decision.

If the deal cannot be gotten out of, then I hope the car is mechanically good. The OP should just start saving some money for either getting the option to buy out of the deal in a couple of years and buy a car outright or incase something goes seriously wrong.

I went to a Carcraft to look at cars once. Within 6 seconds of walking onto the forecourt, three salesmen started walking over to me. They probably looked over at each other first and went "Oh no you don't! He's MINE!". I left fairly promptly.

I've had two experiences with a car supermarket - both the same one, 3 years apart. The first visit was when the guy tried to tell me the 530i Sport Auto they had was a 3 litre M5 and you couldnt get manual ones, and the second time was 4 weeks ago when I was told no, I couldnt test drive a 2001 330i because they dont just let anyone joy ride their performance cars. We were STOOD NEXT to my own car when he told me this. Frankly it was so well priced I suspect there was something wrong with it which would be immediatly apparent to somebody with experience of x30i's which is why he saw little point in letting me out in it.

Are you thinking of changing the 5? or were you just tormenting the salesman:D

I went to a car supermarket in Bristol once, it rained.

Me and a friend went a couple of weeks ago because he's looking around for different car options. We know its a terrible place to buy, but he wanted to take a look around a good selection of different options.

Moment we walked through the door, some cocky, hair-gelled salesman is all over us with the lads accent:
"Alright guys, welcome to Carcraft, what you looking for today? Let me tell you how we work here..."
"We're just looking today thanks, not buying"
"Sure I cant show you some of our finance options?"
"No thanks, were just taking a lo..."
"Because we have some great finance options availabl.."
"WERE JUST....LOOKING"

After getting rid of him we went walking around the place when my friend pointed out the finance option in the front window of one of the cars there...cash price today was something like £16,000...or, you could sign up for one of the monthly plans, which would end up with you paying about £31,800 for the same car.

Double the price of the car. But hey, its only £90 a month right? Bargain! We left soon after that...

It was such a good deal that if it was a minter it was worth having for my parents - they wanted something like £4.5k for a 60k mile 330i.

What was the condition like? While we were looking round, we found that most of the cars were quite new (Say, 2006-6 onwards), with high miles, but most of them seemed fairly tatty and not very well looked after.

Before I bought my first Estima I was looking round for various MPVs, I happened to drop into a car supermarket. They didn't have any 7-seaters there at the time, so I was about to leave when the salesman tried to sell me a Vecra estate, after I had already said I was specifically after 7+ seats

He got pretty pushy too, trying to convince me this over priced Vectra was ideal for my needs

Tatty, really. Key marks on the paintwork, little dinks, etc etc.

Think you've got the wrong Tommy.

Back to the point, I thought the idea was the service included warranty. They may well play hard but legally they wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they promised to include a guarantee or warranty.
