Flight from UK came within seconds of crashing into Lake Geneva
The aircraft was flying from Edinburgh , Scotland to Geneva Cointrin airport and was carrying 157 passengers on November 5 last year.
How did this happen very close to disaster

Does my breasts in when the media report on aviation. According to them, the whole airport is the runway ffs. The BA aircraft didn't collide with anything, it was static, still being loaded, on stand.
Probably searching for Russian ships or subs.![]()
Slightly unusual one to have a E-6B out there. Been quite busy lately with military stuff being moved back and forth over the Atlantic and various exercises going on. Was a Rivet Joint out earlier doing a patrol along the Russian border as well.
Diverted on min fuel several times, never squawked 7700.No information on why but pair of Typhoons squawking 7700:
(Could be as simple as having to divert to a different airfield than intended with low fuel)
I bet there's a maintenance person currently sweating bullets as they remember they forgot to pickup their lunch after their shift.
I'd guess a check on the aircraft rather than training as there is a lack of manoeuvres, training can be done on regular flights and in the sim. Plus the aircraft has just returned from a month off.Training?
