PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I've had the game since launch and still thoroughly enjoy it! My only real criticism is the type of community this game attracts. Many of the players have migrated from competitive twitch shooters like CS:GO.
Unfortunately this means that the game is often taken far too seriously, and it's not uncommon to be on the receiving end of a load of grief if you're not adhering to a specific strategy.
That doesn't mean to say I'm gung-ho, or that I let the side down etc. I just like to have fun, first and foremost!

I even appealed to a few friends on my Steam friends list, and one of them actually remarked that I might hold him back, because he's been in the top ten for the past six games! Big whoop! :p

I've only had the game 2 days and fully agree.
Last night I had my best game where I placed 7th with 5 kills, one of the kills was a headshot while he was in a buggy. I heard him coming behind me so got off my bike crouched behind and just started shooting as he came over the hill, the headshot was total luck tbh but the level of grief I got for 'apparently' camping was unbelievable.

Holy crap some of these guys take playing these games seriously, I think they need to step away from the keyboard and go through their front door a bit more often.

what lol. the whole point of the game is that you have to move-hide-move-hide. Its like the core mechanic.

If they dont like camping go play quake or something - this game is as 'human' as games get. Hiding is allowed

Mine crashes every game, usually after I've finished gathering a load of weapons / gear etc..

Have run through all the fixes, nothing seems to make any difference.

Anyone have any suggestions outside the normal or managed to fix the crashing?

There is a patch coming out tomorrow I think which will hopefully sort (going on test server now I believe).

Whats wrong with taking something serious? Some people get enjoyment out of winning. With that kind of attitude maybe you shouldn't be playing at all either because you know there is a world outside. The whole point of the game is to win, don't really understand the whole thing these days of "there is no winner it's about the taking part".

It's a very common attitude on this forum. You get similar responses if you mention esports at all.

I think he was referring to the fact that the guy raged like a little ***** rather than being competitive. The difference is in the attitude and how one handles losing.

There's nothing wrong with being competitive, you can enjoy a game and be competitive, it's lecturing/raging at those that have done something wrong that is pathetic.

Whinging or raging at someone doesn't add to the fun.

E: Admittedly I am guilty of making snide remarks on kill stealing but it's mostly in jest :D.

+1
nowt wrong with being competitive and trying to win. it's how a player handles it when it doesn't go their way. too many rage and rant and shout noob simply because a team mate has goofed. better to have fun that rage

I'm not averse to competitive play, but I do object to being dictated to. If I'm paired with you via matchmaking, I won't necessarily adhere to your style of play. If I don't want to deploy early and raid the military base, then I won't. It's as simple as that.

Some people derive enjoyment from the experience, rather than the end game result.

Why go down the matchmaking route? No like minded buddies?

Theres an ocuk discord channel with a pubg section, might be worth dropping in to get a game with coms. I've turned off in game voip and would never play via matchmaking, would rather play solo.

Got another bloody second place finish tonight. Raging with myself that I wasnt killed by the #1 guy, the circle killed me. Just wasnt paying attention.

Is the patch only live on the test servers? Had to watch the footy so not sure if the stable servers updated on steam. I only saw the test server updating.
