PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I'm worried they will get the pricing wrong on this it needs to be the same price as h1z1 but it wont be it will be more than double.Barely offers anything over the free battle royale mod he made.My guess is £29.99 or even £34.99.£24.99 I might be tempted.

Already confirmed to be £25 same has the preorder standard edition price.

Already had my money worth just out of the beta..

I am tempted but will wait till compulsory first person is added.

Still hurts my brain as to why it cannot be added for launch after a (by todays terms) lengthy beta.

Got Day of Infamy to tide me over :D

Gonna buy it on my phone at work at 3 and by the time i get home it should be downloaded, assuming steam is behaving and lets me do a remote install.

Not holding out much for playing tonight, I reckon its going to be "stressed" quite abit more than the beta was TBH.

You know as PlayerUnkown comes from an Arma background and still talks about it.... I wonder if when he releases the mod tools someone creates a king of the hill mode!!!

Either way.... I'm struggling to contain my hype. Please dont let this be a let down !

How involved has he been with the development of this?

Has someone else licensed his "name" for use in a game and he has been a creative consultant or was he the lead developer?

Edit:

This from the store page

PLAYERUNKNOWN aka Brendan Greene, is a pioneer of the Battle Royale genre. As the creator of the Battle Royale game-mode found in the ARMA series and H1Z1 : King of the Kill, Greene is co-developing the game with veteran team at Bluehole to create the most diverse and robust Battle Royale experience to date

Seems I was partly right...

I do not think Mr Greene has been calling all the shots on this one.

I don't have too much worries over my hype. I played the last 2 beta weekends and had more fun than I have with any other game this year. Even if the game is exactly the same later today then it will still be right up there for me. If the beta weekends I played were hit and miss, I might be more wary but they were simply enormous fun :)

If anyone is on the fence, I'd suggest looking a bit further afield than Frankie (as much as I like his content) to the likes of Viss or SepticFalcon who are already well established Battle Royale players/streamers.

Squad and duo game play looks immense but the part that excites me most is the mods that no doubt will keep this a top title for a while.

Brendan was the lead on this project, it's his concept.

Only reservation I have with this game is keeping it patched and fresh, something A3 BR has suffered with due to underlying issues with the Arma 3 engine.
