PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

well many would have played the arma 3 mod im thinking it looks great but also wonder how long it will be fun if im honest.2 man teams.could have limited appeal.hope its great.

Any plans for Workshop support does anyone know?

Will there be mod tools?

To those who have played the beta, is there enough "game" here to warrant a standalone release at £20+ or is it one of those games that will keep growing and will become bigger than the sum of its individual parts?

I would say both.

Its often vaunted on these forums about the £1 to hour ratio of a games value. I preordered this for £25 a couple of beta weekends ago. In the last 2 beta weekends I have played for a grand total of 31 hours (according to the stats) , so I have already got the value and that's without launch and the inevitable extras that will come. At no point during that 31 hours did I feel weary of the game or even find it repetitive, despite the fact that it was all on just 1 map with the same weapons.

Yeah I felt the same.. although it was the same map you can jump out of plane in different locations and find different weapons/locations to kill.. always fun to bludgeon people with fists/pan if you land near each other :). Plenty of scope to mod the weapons you find.

Been well worth the money and can see modding enhancing it even more so further down the line

2 man isn't the max, we was playing 4 man last weekend.
Plus this game is going to have steam workshop support lots of content to be made, and the fact anyone can download the unreal engine 4 edit free of charge the possibility are endless.

Has Tombstone said I feel I have already had my money worth.
The gameplay is miles better than h1z1, it's in a different league.
It's also better than arma because of the clunky Ness of that engine.

There was an interview with PU on a Battle Royal streamers channel about 6 months ago (can’t remember if it was Shroomz), anyway, from day one in the negotiations, he said it was paramount for the game to give others the same opportunities he had as a modder so you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be all the tools there for modding.

The fundamental premise was to build a game from the ground up, using a stable engine (Unreal 4) rather than a custom engine that didn’t have the support of Unreal 4. H1 uses the Forelite engine which is already 2 years old and Arma 3 uses its own engine that has a whole heap of fundamental issues (just ask DayZ Standalone devs!)

By default, this game will be much better than H1 or A3 BR given the same person is behind its development and lessons have been learnt and players listened to during the process. Never have I found a team of devs so engaged not only in the process but very open to constructive criticism.

Does this suffer from the same jumping/bunny hopping BS around corners and shooting like in H1Z1?

I ask as I haven't observed this yet on the many vids i've watched on YT in the last few weeks.

cheers thats made me want it a little more now :D

Is there a hacking issue? Someone mentioned it earlier. Will get this as i fancy a decent skulker/shooter.
Yes, devs on the ball and I believe exploit has been closed.

They are going to be pretty hot on this as there will be official leaderboards and competitions etc so they will not allow that to be an issue for long.
