'We're really excited for this replay facility, which will allow you to watch back your match after the game'

'And thats great for content creators'

'Yeah but'

'Great for content creators'

Is E3 and this whole ****ing game about youtube now? Almost feel bad for playing and enjoying it, feel like I should be either screeching over twitch or uploading every in-joke to youtube.

Amen to that.

It's the entire industry though. Every other gamer nowadays seems to have their own cringey YouTube/Twitch channel. Even a couple of people I know in their mid 30s have started doing it, I thought my generation was safe from it

Funny how the inaccurate nade trajectory helper is in the E3 highlights. See 1:12 in this clip.
I guess you are meant to take it as a guide and not foolproof.

Actually watching them again both in the E3 video and yours the arc disappears as you keep moving before throwing.

It's a combination of two things in that video; the desync highlighted by getting shot after I moved behind the wall and the lag from throwing the grenade to it actually leaving my hand. The inaccurate trajectory helper is annoying, but why even have it if the thing isn't accurate?

100% agree, how about concentrating on the core game development rather than some sideshow replay facility that people seem to be not missing nor asking for given every other video that exists on youtube is this game. It's not like people are struggling to create video content for it now is it?

Never once been on twitch nor felt the need to, I just logon, play, logoff. Got no interest in watching replays of myself or uploading to the internet every-time something remotely amusing happens and I'm sure there are plenty other like me though admittedly I seem to be a minority though I am 40.

While people may not agree with twitch / youtube (or are just jealous) people do make a living from it and they both have contributed to the games growth. Don't forget thanks to twitch the community raised $100k + for charity as well. They are both very popular in today's gaming world and have a large following and shouldn't be dismissed just because you don't like it.

I'm sure they have many different teams working on different aspects of the game. I think a replay function would be handy (nothing to do with making videos) but just because they are making that doesnt mean other aspects of the game are being ignored.

Its an early access game. Probably better for you to come back when the game is finished instead of expecting things to be done the way you want it to be done. It seems early access games don't agree with you generally anyway.

People need to understand when developing a game there are multiple departments focusing on entirely different parts of the game.
Some will do new in game mechanics, others GUI, new features and of course stability etc... Some updates take longer than others. I've only been playing PUBG for a short time, but frankly I have been very encouraged so far with their rate of development.

The replay feature has much greater scope of use outside of youtube content.
You can use it to review your own games to see how you can improve, where other players were positioned, what you could have done differently. If an esport scene is established you can then download review pro players, use it to review tactics in squad games.
Movie makers will be attracted to the game also, further exposure and richer content.

my issue was more of the interviewer, the dev was explaining why he thought the replay facility would be useful for people to review the games they've just played and work out better ways to improve and the interviewer cut him off and said 'great for content creators though'. The dev then said 'well yeah, but...' and got cut off when the interviewer shouted 'great for content creation' again. The dev just laughed and gave up trying to explain it. Was just a bit of a petty interview.

I've got nothing again twitch streamers and stuff it just seems the entire playerbase is doing it or following each other around touching each other up for follows and likes. I've done a little bit of streaming direct to FB via shadowplay mainly as people were asking what the game was like, I don't feel like I have to be a performing monkey for anyone while playing though, I just play normally.

Little annoyed. Got to #3 and looted a crap ton of stuff, everyone I killed was way too far to loot and I ended up in a shootout with 2 guys with SKS rifles and blatant 4 or 8x scopes while I literally had ironsights on a SCAR. The game IS a little bit better for RNG than H1Z1 but it's still there, even a red dot would have probably got me #1...

Oh well, you know what you sign up for when you play games like this, but scopes are too rare. Unless you get the drop on somebody with one or get very lucky when looting, you'd better enjoy your ironsights/CoD sights against the 8x Kar98ks and SKS snipers at the end. It seems to always be those too, is this game literally whoever gets a 4 or 8x scope wins? Assuming they're competent.

Fully aware its early access and I'm really enjoying playing it, dev seems good so far and it's actually released in a good state. In all honestly it's far less broken than some fully released games
However focusing on the ability of users creating content based on the game instead of creating content for the game feels wrong perhaps because I'm in the minority of gamers these that just game for a hobby in my spare time rather than it consuming my entire existence.

It's not really a problem for me tbh, they are adding a something that doesn't add value for and wont ever use. In fact given 3 million people have bought it I guess the vast majority of those won't use it either but heyho I'll still enjoy playing it when I can and doesn't affect gameplay in the slightest.

I actually prefer the non-scoped stuff for the very final rounds, e.g. UMP, for the burst fire modes. Suppressors / flash hiders are more available for the SMGs too.

The 2nd to final zone was very out in the open though with just about enough trees for everyone to have cover behind. I had a double barrel shotty so had it ended anywhere else, OOFT ;)

I've plastered people to the walls in level 3 armor with it, so nice.

Well played tonight fellas! Kudos to Prattler for some sound judgement at the end! ;)

Indeed. I'm only aware of it through Stonemountain64's streams.

I get that of course, its a great selling tool for showing people what the game is like but from this years E3 coverage its seems like the devs want to create a great game but the gaming press are shoveling it as a youtube tool.

I mean the dev getting cut off describing how a new feature is good for players who want to get better for some guy just to shout 'content creation' at him summed it all up for me, kits like E3 has been sponsored by twitch and youtube.
