Caved in and bought this yesterday, really addictive even though I'm finding aiming at people difficult. I did manage a 3rd with three kills on last game yesterday. The one squad match I don't my entire team stayed out of the circle until the blue came in and killed them all
Welcome, get yourself into discord and team up, last night their were 3 full squads in discord.
Had a gutting round yesterday playing with a random squad, they insisted on dropping in Yasnaya despite my objections (ie it was directly on the flight path so would be busy). I went to their marker and they went to another part of Yasnaya. Minutes later they all died and blamed me as I 'tried to go solo'. at least they disconnected to leave me in peace. Then went on to make it to the last 4 (and got my first ever ghille suit!) but the other 3 were all in one squad and rushed me at once 
Personally I run: AA and View Distance on Ultra, Textures on High, Post-Processing on Very Low and then everything else on Low. Screen scale = 100, motion blur = off

I think you may be right. I swear whenever those items are equipped the difficulty level increases massively.
I do like hunting people down whenever I hear a suppressed shot nearby. Maybe a lot of other people do the same.

I avoid that by being equally crap with and without the suppressor
Conversely the only few times I've got a chicken dinner is when I've worn the ghille and had a suppressor on my SCAR

See that's the way I feel and people get weird about me giving them the good stuff I find lol.
I figure if I take it it's going to waste I can miss just as well with any setup
.I got this yesterday. Absolutely no clue what I was doing... Got a machine gun from a factory then went into a house beside it. There was some dude crouched down hiding behind a chest of drawers and I hesitated as I thought he might be AFK and I wasn't sure if I was to kill him.... He got up and started to try and punch me so I shot him in the face.
Then I went outside, killed some guy running across towards me and then put two bullets into another bloke in the distance.... I went over to try and find him and he was hiding in a corner and killed me.
This game is great! I now understand it after doing some reading and playing some. I love the suspense and pace of it and hope I can get some hours to sink in to it over the next while.
I joined the Discord thing also as it would be much better playing with a team.

Had a few games last night. Had one where i parked my uaz on the hill and shot out 2 tyres. Saw a guy up the hill and shadowed him only to watch him get in my uaz and try to drive it lol.
By this time i had crept to within 10m meters of him behind a tree and suddenly heard footsteps up the hill behind me.
Turned around and there is a guy 10m behind me who nearly **** himself when i turned around and killed him. He had no idea i wad there. I think my brown jacket and trousers blended me into the tree. The guy who had fot in my uaz jumped out and hid behind it not knowing whats going on other than there were shots nearby so pushed him and nailed him with a silenced ump.

That's my favorite setup (swapping the M16 for a sniper if availiable
