PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Have you tried not killing your team? :D

I can count the number of friendly fire incidents on one hand with those on the Discord server. 90% of the time someone's been an idiot and the other 10% thekwango is involved.

Ding ding we have a winner.

In 200 hrs i've only been downed by FF twice. Both by kwango lol

y'all need to stop walking in front of my gun tbh. not my fault your noobs :p

I've literally not played any other games in months. In fact when I built my new rig recently and did a fresh install it was the only game on my steam list I reinstalled!!

The only thing i've really played in the meantime is Prey, no other game has managed to pull me away from this, i've played since day 1.

However i'm limited to maybe 1/2 games a day at the moment due to wife/son and if I only have chance to play one thing, it will always be this.

Was doing well at the start of several solo games last night, getting 3-5 kills in initial drop zone. Then as map shrinks, down to last 20-30, I move to the circle only to get 1 shotted from someone I couldn't see. Rinse repeat. Both fun and incredibly annoying at the same time :P

Back to solo FPP and had another few games which weren't great (although enjoyable I guess), and I'm really struggling to spot other players at distance so I decided to have a watch of this:

It has some useful tips which I'll try to use but I think the main problem is that I just can't scan the surroundings as fast and thoroughly has he does.
I would have struggled to spot the player at 2:26, and certainly wouldn't pull of the shot with only a red dot.
At 5 mins I didn't see the player, and in fact that player would probably have been me; hiding behind a tree and gets the first shots off but dies anyway :(. At 5:45 I saw the player, but again wouldn't have taken the shots at 5:49 with a red dot, which looked to be about 150m. It almost seems too acurate at that range? More practice required.

Same, I struggle to spot people. Guy in that video is soooo much better than me, almost like no recoil. Now I know why I never win haha.

Bigger monitor higher resolution reshade helps massively with spotting at range..

I've seen pubg on a 24" 1080 and it was so hard to see things compared to my 34* 3440x1440
Good point. I'm playing on 23" at 1080p, getting 45-55fps. Not ideal I know (and I'm not complaining that i don't win :)), so it seems like I need a new GPU and monitor.

Indeed. I still love playing it though :).

Seriously the DPI change and lowering the in game sens has really helped me, not really being dead weight in squads any more which is awesome for me and my team. Got our squad a chicken dinner yesterday, got 13 kills in another game also and I'm just generally killing more people which is good. Just need to work on my positioning now and not being as impatient. Got 20 chicken dinners this little season now 5 solo and 15 squad which I'm happy with.

I still struggle with spotting people sometimes and hearing people, in duos last night two dudes ran up behind me with SKS and blew me away from about 10 feet away :(

The only thing I think I need help with now is my FOV, my monitor is huge and I think my FOV is at 95 and everything is so zoomed out, think I might need to reduce my FOV so stuff is a little more zoomed, not sure... What FOV is everyone using?
