PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Back on this, there's training now!? Can you change the difficulty level with the bots - they seemed dumb (I won one game without a kill or seeing anyone else).

Online still good though but haven't a clue what most of the new items do (tactical kits, jammer packs etc). dg and @Locky - still playing? Remember having a few good games several years ago.

Is it completely crashing or freezing?
Slow reply, sorry. It crashes in a number of ways: generally freezes for a couple of seconds then a crash to desktop with a PUBG crash report window. Sometimes it just CTD with no crash report, and rarely it will lock up my PC which then reboots. It has been like it since the Season 18 patch update. Previous patches season 17 & 16 was fine, but the patch before that also caused lots of crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but that didn't help. Admittedly I'm running a very old PC: Devils Canyon Core i5 4690K, 8Gb RAM & Nvidia GTX 1080 and.... Windows 7:cry: . Still get 90+ FPS at 1080 which is more than playable (when it doesn't crash!).
I am planning on a new PC soon, just need the funds.

Maybe an older machine but still does the job bud,

Could try verifying the local files on steam pubg settings?

Maybe it's using all the RAM space, Run a programme like MSI afterburner with screen overlay to see how much RAM is being used when in game

My antivirus used to cause this, was a while ago now and cant remember which one I was using, worth a try.

Have already tried verifying the local files which made no difference.
I do run MSI Afterburner. RAM usage is consistently around 4Gb, and GPU and CPU temps are fine.
Have disabled anti-virus (avast) temporarily and a couple of games played with no crashes. Will continue to try this method, thanks!

Hmmmm odd! Do you have any background programmes running at the same time like Discord etc?

Strange, similar thing happening to me now. I just recently upgraded to W11 and played a few hours with no issue, today it's freezing and then crashing. Have re-seated RAM and GFX but my USB ports also seem to be playing up, as my keyboard or mouse will stop working and I will need to plug in another rear port.

The only thing that has seemingly changed since installing W11 are Windows updates, it seems to be faffing a lot with the current one.

Edit - one of those two pesky updates has installed now, left the other one. No more crashes yet....

Started playing this a bit, had an 8 week break. Felt proper crusty first few games back. I'm not playing it anywhere near as much as I was now either.

Also just playing ranked, truer to the game I'm used to, all the gimics they put in standard mode broke it for me.

Frustratingly the skill level is a bit...higher generally...and I'm not not there now, but still better games imo then you get on standard.

I've not even played the new map, probably should.

I don't play it anywhere near as much as I used to, maybe 1 or 2 games on an evening, my wife plays it a lot as she has a group of friends on there who have been playing in a team with her for about 2 years now, the new map is alright but I still prefer the Original maps (Erangel and Miramar) the new weapon (O12) is pants I can't hit a single thing and I aim down sight..

I re-installed this last night and did the training to get back into the game (dunno why I needed the training as I have over 500 hours in the game!)
I've not played it in a long while, but I found even the training game against the AI pretty tense and good fun, though I realised that I wouldn't have won the game if humans had been playing!

Ugh.

My PUBG is causing my PC to restart every time I am about launch into a game.

I can get into the lobby fine, and run match making, as soon as its found a match my PC restarts. Literally started doing it this morning, and doing it 100% of the time. Was working fine yesterday. Have not changed any settings, tried to re-validate steam files and all ok. Other games work fine....

Is your GPU driver up to date?

See,

I dont think cheating is anywhere near a bad as the reputation PUBG has, but playing a game of ranked this morning, we had 3 left the other team 2. I knew there were in a small compound , probably zone 6 so sneaking up on this compound, my 2 mates are sort of in the centre (ish) and I am sneakling up right on a flank. I was well out of any footstep range then completely still hiding behind the landscape.

Few minutes later I hear the guy approaching, comes right around literally shoots me straight away, level 130 something, almost like he knew I was there. Report, and about an hour later his account got banned.

But, it just ruined that game, I reckon we would have had a good chance of winning that one as my position (unless they were cheating as evident) was not obvious and I would reckon I would have gotten the drop on at least 1 of the 2 which would then mean 3 on 1 and a good chance of winning. But nope, that game ruined.

It only needs to happen the odd time to really put a downer on your experience. And I dont report that often and makes me wonder how many are getting away with it regularly......
