PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I wouldn't say the developers have ever made logical choices but I play exclusively ranked mode just for the high amount of loot and no gimmicks. They have now transferred over things like the parachute plane, blue grenades, deployable shield etc and I really can't understand why.

I'm down to only having a couple of people I play regularly with and both have said the same basically that they are looking for a new game to play as PUBG isn't the same game anymore.

Will be even further from the original game when they bring in whatever revive system they are planning
 
I still really enjoy playing it but I do try to mix my gaming up a bit so it doesn't become too stale.

I too only play with two people as a squad of 3 (and occasionally duos), both of whom are OcUK forum members and we enjoy each others company (I think!?) and have a laugh. Some nights we play very poorly, others we have a good run. Like it or not though, there isn't anything quite like it still. The gunplay is just soooo good. I don't get annoyed so much about gimmicks and gadgets and to be honest they aren't really game breaking as they don't really happen that much and are just a bit of fun (e.g. blue zone grenades). You never see anybody except me using the deployable shields either, so again, not a game breaker in any way whatsoever.

The only thing that gets my goat is having to play the small maps still. Never been a fan or Parama, Haven or Karakin - I do quite like Sanhok though. But if they put all the small maps into a separate queue then I think you'd only get a game on the larger maps! Taego is just a bit meh for me, featureless and dull and everywhere looks pretty much the same (you could level that criticism at most maps I guess, but I feel it more on that map).

Erangel > Miramar > Deston > Vikendi > the rest.

I also still enjoy watching the esports scene too.

I'd be happy if the only map was Erangel, I love the OG map :). I've been away from this for such a long time and recently getting back into it. I like a lot of the new additions, certain crate pickups on the ground and a casual mode are a massive welcome for me.

Let me know if you're up for a duo. Not played this in ages but I had hundreds of hours in the game. Erangel is my favourite too.

Won't add the 'hours played' bit next to it because it's is embarrasingly high :cry:

The game runs amazing for me now. Which is strange because I'm sure a bunch of us re-installed just before xmas and it was terrible. Must have been a significant patch in the new year because it's night and day. Some of the new maps are ok but they are just void of any mid game action. In fact, that has plagued PubG since I started playing on first release. They need the blue zone to adapt to the amount of players left on the server. Or even better, add 50 extra players so maps like Miramar, Deston etc.

Lots have changed, some for better some for worse.
Cheating is still clearly an issue and I'm not sure they have handle on it.

I played 10 games on Sunday and in 2 of them I died to someone tracking through a wall from around 500m aways and another had full auto on a Mini14 DMR.

Still when the cheating aint obvious in quads its loads of fun and I much prefer it the likes of Warzone where everything in that game is designed to show you off you location with UAVs, Super UAVs, Tracking perks and contract missions giving away your position over PUBG where its more tactical and stealthy and you can actually take your time to tool up.
 
I've just had a few games tonight after this thread got bumped. So much better than Warzone.

Just scored a chicken dinner on my 8th game or so, was a new map I'd not seen before with loads of high buildings where you could use ropes to get to the rooves. Got a couple of kills including the final one but didn't see any people till gone mid game.

Last time I played was circa 2 months ago, filling a void as I was shadow banned from CoD. Had a wild match with pretty much just the pump action shotty and K98 :p
 
I played a few games again recently (my duo partners prefers TPP) and we did OK, didn't quite win but plenty of non- bot kills per game.

Then I played some FPP solo l, but the desync seemed awful, missing easy headshots and dying around corners to players who have yet to appear. My ping and packet loss seemed OK though.
 
Well that was weird. Installed PUBG, played a couple of games no issues. Tried another game later and it insisted on one of those Microsoft Redistributable packs being installed. Did so and then the weirdness started.

I couldn't navigate the UI, the mouse wouldn't click where you wanted. Alt/entered to switch to border mode and back to full screen. And then the game crashes with 60 seconds every time, this was all after that redistributable pack.

I've read in the past that the redistributable prompt in actually the game crashing and the crash reporter trying to launch but because you don't have the redistributable installed it ask you to. So it's the crash reporter that needs it not the actual game.

Can't help anymore than that just saying it could be something else crashing the game.

Ta - ran Furmark on loop today to see if it might be the system overall (had some recent issues) but ran fine with no hiccups and temps were good.
