PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Does anyone use a Zowie Mouse with PUBG and figured out how to get a decent scroll speed for looting etc? I found an old FK1 in my box of PC gear and actually feels pretty good but the scroll speed in game is annoying me. I seem to remember its something to do with 16 stage wheel they use as no matter what number of scroll lines you set in Windows it makes no difference in game. So takes ages to scroll through the contents of a loot box.

It's mad isn't it? It's gone from hardcore shooter to a weak Warzone clone. The original comeback arena on Taego was excuitatingly done with everyone just camping, the gimmicks are ridiculous and the new circle speeds are too fast. The new comeback tokens are terrible too, there's never time to grab it and get safely to a beaken.

Ridiculous to have a blue chip tracker straight off the bat, however these changes coincide with my uninstalling again as the hacking in recent weeks has been unbearable, more so than i've seen in a very long time.

Not particularly happy with the direction of travel with this game now. The introduction of all the tactical gear is just such a terrible idea...what were they thinking??
I guess if they didn't change things people would moan as well though? A new map or two would be good mind.

people still play this?! thought they'd killed it off a long time ago. so sad too as it had so much potential.

I stopped playing a few months ago.

Saying that I did the same last year as the weather starts getting better, I prefer to spend more time outdoors and you just can't play PUBG casually, well at least not me.

I know at the same time one of the other guys I had been playing with for years also lost interest.

I don't miss it right now, no intention of getting back into it, as we go into autumn see how good Starfield is as I may end up playing that over winter.

Biggest and fastest fall from grace ever with this game. Peak steam player base one moment, to dead bot filled mess in the space of 3 years.

Not actually played this since July 7th 2020 apparently, but it looks like they've ruined what was a good but clunky concept, that just needed the clunky part fixing.

I don't mind most of the changes and their maps have generally been good, I don't particularly crave a new map, but having blue chip detectors from the get go, completely destroying the perk and capability of the EMT is terrible...

These items were meant to be giving a player a choice by occupying a weapon spot, now its just absurd. The blue chip detector goes against everything that the game was about. It was about chancing your arm or sticking you head around a corner to see if an enemy was there only to have it blown off. Using a bluechip detector to see round corners is just stupid.

Patch notes for next week - https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/578080/view/3692437468646527034?l=english - blue chip detector removed from tactical pack (see below) plus usual range of other tweaks.

Throughout the years, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has continuously evolved, seeking to introduce diverse gameplay experiences beyond what has become the standard. Our goal has always been to ensure that all players, regardless of skill level, can feel like they're meaningfully contributing to their teams. As part of this mission, we introduced the Tactical Gear system. This unique addition allows players to strategize and adapt their approach based on different situations and equipment types, enabling each team member to also take on fresh roles.

Tactical Gear has received positive feedback since its launch, but we observed instances where players had to sacrifice their primary weapon slots to make room for Tactical Gear, leading to challenges in combat. Balance issues also emerged with certain gear like the Spotter Scope and Tactical Pack. To address these issues, we made several balance adjustments and introduced a renewed Tactical Gear system in Update 24.1. Our intention was to underscore the strategic aspects of the game and offer players more options to personalize their playstyle, enhancing the diversity of gameplay.

However, we've been receiving substantial feedback post the 24.1 Update, suggesting certain Tactical Gear was excessively potent.

We first wish to clarify that we approach any balance adjustment with a comprehensive analysis of community feedback and gameplay metrics across all maps and modes (solo/duo/squad). This process also applies to Tactical Gear. For instance, while certain gear was more favored in smaller maps/solo players, it was less popular in larger maps/team play.

The Blue Chip Detector was one such Tactical Gear. According to our internal data, it was particularly popular in smaller maps and solo modes. Though it ranked lowest in terms of win rates across all Tactical Gear, it provided a significant advantage during early combats by making enemy location easier. This ease of locating enemies, especially among seasoned players who rely on sound play and world terrain for positional awareness, was seen as diminishing the tension of the game and causing stress, as it exposed their locations easily.

We had initially planned to monitor the status of Tactical Gear post the 24.1 Update to gather more precise metrics, but the feedback and the actual in-game usage data led us to conclude that the stress caused by the Blue Chip Detector was significant. Consequently, we've decided to remove the Blue Chip Detector in this update.

With regards to the EMT Gear, we recognized that it was over-adjusted in the 24.1 Update, as we previously determined this gear had overly potent features, such as self-heal boost effects and reduced time for teammate healing/revival. Therefore, we have carried out minor enhancements.

Lastly, the All-In-One Repair Kit has proven its worth as a valuable tool, enabling players to repair crucial equipment in various situations. Our metrics show it as one of the most effective Tactical Gear, recording the highest win rate among all. Thus, we've decided to reduce its usage limit in this update.

Not played for months, reinstall the game - play one casual game round and no issues.

Next game, that annoying bug where it completely cuts my ethernet connection for a few seconds returns making it unplayable. Turns out my colleague has the same issue.

PUBG actually drops your entire ethernet connection? Never heard that one. What has ruined this game for me (and probably my favourite game of all time) is the shiteness that is the servers. They have had an issue for probably a year now where so many EU players and ISP have issues to their A-Z-fra servers. This was alleviated for a while with the A-A-fra servers if you were lucky enough to get onto one. Now it seems they are back to A-Z-fra only (one is AWS one is MS Azure - I cant remember which way around). I went from a solid sub 20ms ping to a 40-90ms ping with intermittent packet loss and latency spikes etc and the hitreg is gash. Massive threads on discord about it but they just do not care.

Yeah it's very weird, I'll get the connection error pop up in game and then alt/tab out to see my ethernet connection icon turn to the globe/no connection icon. The game must have been listening, hasn't happened since my last post and no other issues.

Yeah oddly that never really affected me too badly, although my ping went from about 20 - maybe 60 ish, but packet loss no.

However, my regular crew would always be complaining about that, so I guess it would only affect some but not all, or some more than others.

The main problem is its not affecting all so most are just "its your connection, ISP etc" and it doesnt affect every match but most - its clearly affecting multiple ISP's in multiple countries. And they know that the A-A-fra servers dont have the issue but rather than send more matches to those they binned them completely.
