PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Players, as with the last patch, a new type of anti-cheat solution, which is still under development, is to be applied on the test servers. We are in a test phase with this solution, and its stability and compatibility need to be verified. We would like to collect data about potential compatibility issues, analyze it and solve any issues that may emerge.

If you experience a crash, please take a screenshot that shows the error and report it here. If the current test build is consistently crashing for you, we recommend that you play on the live servers instead. Thank you for your understanding.

Please find the patch notes below:

World

Miramar improvements
  • Added more buildings and cover across the map to improve the engagement experience
  • Added more off-road routes for easier vehicle navigation
  • Upgraded the item spawn level of certain areas for loot balancing (some areas will spawn better loot)

Replay

The replay system has now been updated to a newer version and past replay files cannot be played anymore

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the issue where heal and boost items could be used underwater
  • Fixed the issue where characters would get stuck in certain areas on Miramar
  • Fixed the issue where wall textures on some Miramar buildings were not displaying correctly
  • Fixed the issue where certain buildings near by Hacienda del Patron were not displaying correctly

Thank you.

For all the Reshade users...

''We are testing a new anti cheat solution on our test servers this week and it is to block cheats more effectively. This will also block 3rd party programs that modify the gameplay or visuals in an invasive way. Reshade is one of the programs that will be blocked by this measure.''

I don't use reshade or any 3rd party programs myself, I know a lot of streamers etc. use it though, where did you see that quote?

Is reshade the thing that makes peoples game super bright and colorful? I keep seeing videos of peoples games where the whole game is brightly coloured and vibrant, so much so that it looks like a different game. Mine looks nothing like that, seems like it would make spotting people much easier. Whilst also melting your retinas.

In the same way that having better hardware than others is cheating?

It's available to anyone who puts the time and or money into it, and is (well, was!) allowed.

O_o how so? The game is designed so that stuff like bushes/trees look like other players. If you are able to add a re-shade option that completely negates the background and makes player models stick out like a sore thumb then it should be stopped.

Some people used re-shade to make some nicer graphic balance though which is a shame.

Because it's available to everyone and was permitted (no longer)! If people don't use it despite it being freely available and it does enhance their gameplay, it's their problem.

Edit: It's like saying 144Hz monitors shouldn't be allowed because it gives those with those monitors an unfair advantage over those playing on a 60Hz.

Note: I never used it :p

Double note: I'm not saying it shouldn't be banned. All I'm saying is that it didn't give an unfair advantage because everyone could use it, just some chose not to.

Knew about reshade but never used it, didn't know about the Nvidia thing.

Will give it a go and I expect my first chicken dinner with my new found ability to spot everyone!

Sorry mate your argument is weak. The tool was being used to allow a holo scope zoom in 8x. This goes against what the scope is designed to do in game and gives an advantage. Likewise being freely available is an awful argument. If I upload an esp and make it available to everyone then it’s ok?

Of course not. Re-shade had legitamite uses for some players but If it allowed other players to basically cheat then of course it needs blocked.

You're making my point though - it had uses that weren't exactly 'cheating', or as you describe them 'legitimate uses for some players'. And the ESP point? Not a great one to raise, but predictable, even though you yourself mention that this piece of software had 'legitimate uses', unlike any ESP hack.

Wasn't aware of the zooming thing, that does change things rather; I was only aware of it enhancing the colours and contrast of the player's view. The zoom ability is, I agree, pretty dodgy.

Well I've managed to use reshade since about June without suddenly becoming a cheater.

If someone is that adamant that they want to cheat, they will find another, better way.

I look forward to having a dull washed out game again :/

To be fair, I don't have it but didn't choose not to. I didn't know it was an option... I guess because it's third party and isn't really an option in the game.

Could this be why I feel I'm not as good at spotting people as others? Does everyone else use reshaders?
