playing GRAW 2 with no physx card, but with effects!

its exactly the same, but i cant get the island level to work yet, which has the other effects like wind and all destructable huts.

but single player is exactly the same with the ppu, minus about 5-7 frames depending on your system

so does cpu physics look exactly the same as ppu physics in GRAW when the hack is enabled? or is there still some difference in the physics that the dedicated card shows?

I haven't tried it with a PPU but did the workaround, works fine.

Noticed a lot more debris, sparks, ashes in the air etc. Nothing major or groundbreaking though. I've seen stuff like that in other games that don't 'need' a PPU.

as pottsey had said before, the physx enhancements in the single player campaign arent that amazing, its mostly in that single island level, which is a bit annoying tbh. but they do look better though than without it i guess, occasionally

“your correct, that link shows they have NO driver support “
I don’t understand, I see a list of drivers. In facts thanks, I just noticed there’s updated drivers with GRAW2 improvements. Also it says updated needed to run on PCIe PPU cards.

kind of hard to say this hack works if you can;t compare it directly to a ppu accelerated version.

it does work as there is a notable difference than when the tweak isnt used. and people WITH the ppu have said the effects are the same as when the ppu is used

check my picture

If you play without the PhysX effects enabled first it's quite easy to tell the difference. From extra effects and FPS drops. Throw some grenades at some wooden fences and shoot some cars etc, it's noticeable. I guess with a PPU you won't get the FPS loss.

“i got ie 64bit, so flash not work in it?”
Nope and it’s a real pain. Youtube and tons of sites just don’t work. If it wasn’t for that I would use 64-bit IE all the time.

LOL, I remember whwn they first came out, some peep here boughty one, he actually took a FPS hit using the card, it was crap looking too.

Anyhow the OP is not happy this thread is his and about GRAW2 Physics using modded cmd line not Physics cards. ;)

“£100 quid for 5 FPS hardly seems worth it“
Its not £100 for 5FPS. Just because the CPU loses’ 5 FPS doesn’t mean the PPU doesn’t boost FPS by more then 10fps. Buying a PPU for only one game is mostly likely a waste unless you live on that game. PPU’s are for people with more then 1 PPU games. Your also forgetting about the other PPU content in GRAW 2. The main PPU stuff doesnt even work on the CPU.

That’s been fixed, unsurprising the very first set of drivers where not optimised and had performance bugs in them.
