Playstation 4 being announced February 20th?

ps3 can only do images not video afaik.
4k is a lot to push around on what is modest tech, the consoles at the moment can barely do 1080p in games, and some even struggle on 720p.

I think we should be happy with a solid 1080p gaming experience and see what happens with 4k. maybe they will just have it for bluray stuff.

And that's why I said output only :p. Won't see 4K games, just like we don't see (many) 1080p games on current gen even though they output at 1080p.
4K is gearing up for lots of exposure in the next 1-3 years and Sony are a big part of that. I would be very surprised if it didn't have hardware HEVC decode in anticipation of 4k video content aswell.

Nononononoonoooooooo. Those triggers on that prototype are practically the same. They need to have a concave grip to stop your fingers sliding off. Otherwise it's back to L1/R1 for aiming/shooting.

again how do your fingers slide off ? do you have the pad sat in a bag of crisps or eat ribs while gaming. :p

How can they come in at £300 if RRP for Wii U premium is also £300 and Nintendo are supposedly making a loss on that, how can Sony come in at a similar price with much stronger hardware?

I think the Wii U's controller puts the price up by a lot?

I've been playing Heavy Rain last couple of nights and I've had some finger slippage issues. Mind you, you need to be some kind of finger contortionist to complete some of those sequences! So in my case maybe it's the game and not so much the controller.

I do hope it's less than £400 but in all honesty I can't see it being much less if any. May even be more than that, who knows?

My predictions:

- Bluray drive

- Supports 4K video output for future

- 1080p games

- Games will still be on discs

- USB ports still

- SSDs for internal storage

- Runs quiet

- Controllers will be similar to previous ones to help keep costs down and put more money into the actual console hardware

- A large effort will have been made to keep the console highly secure

- It will be black

- It will be an odd shape and not fit in our current hifi racks ;)

- Large emphasis on youtube/sharing integration

- Will be sold again as "central media hub" despite having Cinavia protection built in and again not playing .mkv files natively.

- Revised game update/firmware deployment options such as silent background jobs at scheduled times.

- Will be more power efficient but will still use about the same amount of watts.

Overall, I wish for Sony to focus on this as a games console, rather than trying to be a compromised jack of all trades master of none "central media hub". The later will always be crippled if made by Sony due to their love of DRM and Cinavia. So just make it give the best gaming experience possible.

Looking forward to this, hope there is some actual games though and not all gimmicky stuff! Fed up of all the motion, camera and kinect stuff. I just want some quality next gen gaming.

i hope its not a motion controlled console, like you said, getting fed up of all that rubbish.

wouldn't it be awesome if they announced fallout 4 as a release title? :p
