PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

WHat HDMI port to use on my 2014 4k tv? Cus its an old 4k its not got HDR or proper support for the 4k standards. So i can use hdmi 3 which can do 4k 60hz with HDCP 2.2 but wont support the RGB colour. Or I can use HDMI 1 which supports RGB colour 4k 60hz but will only do HDCP 1.4?

not sure what HDCP even does but it warns me some applications wont run in 4k at HDCP 1.4

HDCP stops you hooking digital content up to non-HDCP compatible devices. I.E capture cards etc.

Hmmm the drive wouldn't impact that. I'm pretty sure its the same drive as the standard PS4.

Technically if the HDD is faster then it could help with streaming textures etc. If the game was poorly programmed to stream things further in the distance could it effect the performance of the game if the HDD couldn't load it quick enough?

With the new pro, is the ram always faster?

Use the one that supports HDCP and set the console to Auto on everything. You will have less issues this way.

Same drive in both consoles. It was CPU limitations that caused the stuttering and slow down. It still happens but nowhere near as bad.

Have you compared it to the latest updated version of JC3 then? Seems odd, how it could make a difference whilst unpatched. Cool if it does though.

Yeah I get what your saying but I wouldn't think there would be much difference between 5600rpm and 7200rpm to be honest when it comes to gaming. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Do Game or another store have a Pro setup? I want to see the difference on a 4k TV.

I don't have a 4k TV but if games look good on a 4K TV with the Pro then I may do a complete upgrade overhaul!

Would be god to see the difference on a top of the line HDR screen to my 4K non HDR.

So is this worth it for 1080p 60fps? im more the smooth 1080 performance and it would be mint to have a console achieve that. Im assuming things will get better as time goes on with this?

It boils down to how developers use the extra power. We are at the mercy of what they decide; visual gains or performance gains. They aren't required to follow any particular path, which will make things interesting.

There is 1GB of standard (non-GDDR5 ram) in the Pro, which I seem to recall from an interview with Sony recently was used for textures (could well be wrong about what its used for), but would suspect this would have to be utilized in a Pro patch rather than used in general for everything.

If it is able to be used in every game, its potentially very possible the system is generally that little bit faster because that amount of GDDR is not being used
