PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

Rainforest starts to surface blackfriday deals on tvs, lots of cheap 4k to be had.

As for so.someone paying 180£ for ps4, just do it before they realise they can have new one for that price...

Well played Bloodboure a bit and I'm pretty sure it is much smoother. Graphically it isn't a giant leap, but my theory seems to be true. All games will at least run smoother. This is based on a non HDR 4k TV.

I think it was mentioned that although the GPU scales back to standard PS4 speed the CPU boost is still intact, so thats maybe contributing to very slight improvement in certain games.

Seriously? Bloodborne is my favourite game of this current gen I love it and this might be my excuse to go back and start a new build. I thought we would only see increases to performance if the devs release a patch to allow it?

Well, my only experience is of Diablo 3 that apparently is supposed to have framerate drops in large battles on ps4 but I've yet to experience any of these on ps4 pro. Runs super smooth with over 200 enemies on the screen full of particles and effects.

I know sources said that unpatched games will down clock the console but then again - wouldn't that part require a patch as well? I just fail to see how ps4 pro can detect itself whether game has been patched or not.

Anyone else had problems with PSVR on the Pro and 4K screen (non-HDR)?

The Pro works fine for me when plugged directly into the TV with either the HDMI cable supplied with the console, or the HDMI cable supplied with PSVR. However, when I connect the TV to the breakout box, and connect the box to the Pro, I get no signal.

Note, I've read issues around HDR but my TV doesn't support HDR.

I really only play BF1 and FIFA 17. I currently game on a 1080P screen but was looking to upgrade at Christmas. Is the Pro a worthy upgrade?

Anyone else noticed a downgrade in performance in BF1 since the patch? (on PS4 Pro)

If EA have purposely done this due to the Xbox deal, I swear I will never buy an EA a product in my lifetime.

Would you say I should upgrade to the Pro in a couple of months? I don't really care for 4k or graphical improvements (doubt those will be massive, TBH), I'm on a 1440p monitor and it looks all right. Unless the jump in the fidelity of effects/textures is substantial, all I care for is fps. 60fps in Final Fantasy XV and possibly Yakuza 6 is what drags me to the Pro, but the question is how many games will offer more or less locked 60fps? There's nothing worse than playing between 40-60. Besides, locked 30 on the PS4 is surprisingly playable. I hate that on PC but it somehow feels different in e.g. Uncharted 4.

My PS4 is a 1TB 1216B and practically brand new, I got it for a nice price with the entire Uncharted series, so I don't think I should jump to the Pro already.

Then again, even if games are locked to 30fps they might not drop below that on the Pro, something which sometimes happens on the standard PS4 in U4.

Give it a couple of months and see how things pan out.

I'm starting to regret my purchase because developers don't seem to cater to the majority with their patches.

As mentioned previously, BF1 was superb and now they have somehow managed to break it with the current patch. They won't roll that back now neither.

They've done something to the AA and the image is nowhere near as crisp. Looks a bit more washed out too, no idea how they've managed that.

I will be getting the pro soon but still keep my standard ps4 also but wanted to know what 4k tv people are using with there pro ? i was looking at the samsung series 6 4k tv's which seems good value and has been recommended to me so anybody using that combo ?

Regretting buying something that came out a few days ago???

Oh the drama.

I never expected there would be so many games actually running worse. How did that even happen?

I've been using my son's old PS4 to play certain games right now, that wasn't the point of the "upgrade".

When you get 3 days spare in every 12, yeah.... it is a big deal to me.

Well stop whinging about it then and return it while you still can. There are always some slight issues with newly released products (although I havnt noticed any of the problems so far)

I think the whole "games running worse" thing is overrated, unless you see it running worse on your own screen then I wouldn't worry about someone talking that during benchmark there was 1fps drop.

Well at least i've worked out what has made BF1 look worse.

Improved TAA on PS4 and Xbox One

Combined with their great new lag reduction changes, it's made it worse.

Can't blame the hardware for that mind.

Really want the Pro however the one thing holding me back is noise? Noise is the reason i sold my original release PS4 even after reapplying the thermal paste. It ruined the immersion so much while playing the last of us and uncharted.
Is it possible if any owners could say if there PS4 Pro is loud, quiet or anything between. It is a massive deal breaker for me.
Thankyou

It's nowhere near as noisy as the the old PS4. Nowhere near.

My old one sounded like a vacuum cleaner at times, from day one.
