Playstation Plus

Play both 1 and 2 first before 3, anyone that tells you differently, put them on ignore :p.

Ive had PS Plus from day one and maybe 10+ games still wrapped in plastic and Ive made sure to play the Uncharted series...

Agreed, people often seem to recommend skipping the first one but there's really no reason to, it's a great game and while it's not on the same level as U2 and 3, it's still fun to play and it's great seeing how much they were able to improve technically in U2, the visual difference is quite staggering.

Besides, if you don't play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune you'll not know who some of the characters are when they appear in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Its tantamount to skipping MGS because its a PS1 game. Its just silly if you want to understand the whole MGS saga. And as you said it qualifies why Uncharted 2 is so highly regarded when you put up against its predecessor

BTW PS+ is changing for July - heres a list of the... :p

Is there anywhere to get a free 30 day trial still? Am waiting for me PS3 to be delivered and haven't found a relatively cheap place to buy the subscription yet.

Edit* Think I have one now. :)

Dont think you will now after Sonys PS4 announcement - like you I was hoping to get some before it becomes a standard requirement

So I've just got a PS3 again to get back into the Sony way of things, and having never been a PS+ subscriber I'm not sure exactly how it works.

If games are still available for free (I understand some get removed) can I download the older ones retrospectively, or is it just stuff from the point I sign up?

I took the plunge with PS+ last month and quite frankly it's superb for the money!! I'm struggling to see where the catch is?! Next month I will be swamped with games lol.

The only problem I've hit is my trusty old 70gb ps3 is struggling with the storage - Uncharted 3 is almost impossible to download!! Whats the cheapest way to expand the memory? I have heard you can buy a new harddrive and stick it in the PS3 - are there any specific ones I need to buy?

It has to be a 2.5" 5200rpm hdd (with some exceptions) or solid state drive.

I checked amazon reviews when choosing a suitable hdd.

I used a 500gb hitachi travelstar :)

Make sure you sync all your saves to the cloud before swapping too.

I was also running out of space (120gb). I went with a 1tb Samsung M8 after looking at many drives.
Did a full backup to external drive, synced all trophies and saves, install new drive, install current firmware, restore from backup. Done.

It was a surprisingly painless experience.
