Glad they've done something to get it more press but I think dropping the OLED screen is a real shame.

I play on mine almost daily, currently putting hours into Spelunky and Persona 4 :)

The OLED screen is such a key part of what makes the Vita great. Dropping that is moronic.

I welcome the 64GB card though, but it's going to be painfully expensive!

Don't get the fuss over the OLED screen. On the Vita they've got horrendous colour shift when viewed off angle and on a black/dark screen you can see those weird splodges where quality control is poor.

I always see people moaning about burn in on the OLED on Vita, maybe that's why they changed to LCD

I appear to be one of the lucky ones and on my screen you can only see the splodges in a pitch black room on a black screen with the brightness set high. I never see them during normal use and in those conditions I also see the splodges on my Galaxy S2 and Note II phones.

Again with the colour shift, it's far better than any LCD screen I've ever seen on phones or handhelds, except on certain shades of grey which do shift when tilted.

Overall though the OLED screen, especially on wipeout and uncharted, adds so much to the experience that I would never buy a phone or handheld without it if there was an option to have one.

I have heard that this is a concern for OLED screens, luckily I haven't seen any on mine but I am quite a light user compared to most gamers.

It looks like they aren't going to stop producing the OLED version anyway, so people won't be missing out on that awesome screen unless they choose to.

Exactly. The same applies to the people up in arms regarding the 2DS. The 3DS is still available! Calm down.

I welcome the new Vita, might be finally time to drop some cash on this device.

Perhaps they'll keep the 3G-enabled one with OLED as the 'premium' model, discontinue the wi-fi OLED one and have this new one take its place.

Has anyone played dragons crown? Is it worth getting?

I have it - the easiest way to describe it is a 2d hack and slash version of Diablo.

So far I've completed the first difficulty with the Fighter class, and I'm about half way through the first difficulty with an Archer. There are 3 difficulties in total for you to replay through, which lets you get to a higher level/get better gear.

The multiplayer is really fun on it, but if you don't like/won't play MP, I think at around £35 the price is a tad too high to justify. If you're into MP and looking for a game with lots of replayability then by all means pick it up, it's a solid game.

I'm gonna be playing Killzone Mercenary pretty much all day if anyone would like to join, PSN in sig.

When I first got uncharted, I thought the splodges were part of the graphic on the loading screens!

Never noticed anywhere near the same level if colour shift on my iPhones.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this, thought my eyes were going weird!

But as said it's a non-issue as you can only see it when in a dark room when the screen is black e.g. between loading screens.

Also, sounds like J&D Vita versions play similar to Ratchet and Clank Q-Force. The Vita version of that came out months after the PS3 release and looks and runs terrible in comparison. Nowhere near as smooth.

The reports on the OLED issues seem to vary hugely. I wonder if they were manufactured at different factories or if there were quality control issues.

Watching the Sony conference. Natural Doctrine has my attention, on Vita, PS3 and PS4

PS. Say what you like about the Japanese...they know how to make rubbish titles for things!

i can only hope the new vita is a hit meanining we get more great games for it.

it really is a lovely bit of hardware to own and play with so much potential waiting to be unleashed, along with the arrival of the PS4 the vita has potential to become a very worthwhile investment... personally with a family (including a wife who enjoys american trash tv) the ability to play any PS4 game on it is nearly the same as buying a second console and tv for 1/4 of the price.

How much is the price ddifference between the two right now? Im on the cusp of thinking about getting a Vita purely because of remote play and the fact the games I have via PS+, but I really wanted to see if the PS4 came bundled with one

I wonder if that Vita mega pack is still available, at worst Ill just get the 3G version

ps3ud0
