***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

In my opinion the 1st gen Vita is the one to have. Apart from the USB charger and better battery life on the slim everything else is too much of a compromise. I love the OLED screen on the VITA and it makes my top of the range Sony Bravia's look a meh after using it. The offers on the Vita right now seem really good too.

Still waiting for my 64gb from yes asia! ordered it 31 dec lol.
Anyways bought the whole Final Fantasy package while it's half price, to relive my childhood.
Ashamed to never have played FF 1 and it's fantastic, poured some hours into it already.

I bought FF9 and Dissidia duodecim as for some reason I missed 9 back when it came out, and Dissidia gets good reviews.

I also grabbed 14 on disc for £8 ready for that free upgrade when it releases on PS4.

I'm building up such a backlog though, I still need to pile some more time into Persona 4.

I'm 7 hours in to MGS, on the last section of Gravity Rush and polished off Tearaway really fast. Love that game, but don't really want to return to it

Shame the Vita games line-up is so patchy :(

Forgot to bring my charger to work, and the battery has just run out at the end of one of the dungeons on the boss in P4G!

Quick question- will it resume from the same bit when I charge it tomorrow morning, or has all progress been lost?.... Please don't say I have to navigate that whole dungeon again!

Toukiden isn't as awesome as I thought it would be :( Feels like Soul Sacrifice. Canceled my pre-order...for now...

It's essentially monster hunter to my understanding, after looking at it more though I did the same :\ Ah well, at least it gives me more time to play Danganronpa which comes out the same day :D

Vita at home can't wait to use it. When playing classics does the screen go to a 4:3 aspect ratio and can you override to make it stretch? Is there any smoothing ala emulation on the PS3?

It goes to 4:3 by default, but if you go into the settings (by holding down the PS button until the screen pops up, you used to just hold your finger on the screen until it popped up) you can either use presets or stretch it to your liking with your fingers. It does have Bilinear Filtering for smoothing, it's very noticeable in sprite and text-heavy games :p

I was aware it had something weird on the back. It says it has ten games on it from some voucher, I presume I'll lose them when I log in with my own PSN ID? Not that I care.

4 touch panels?

Split into 4 areas, I meant (probably should have made it clearer that it was for the keybinding of classics, and Tearaway using front and back).

Is it a preowned memory card/system? If so you can't use a card registered to someone else's account.

All formatted and connected to my PSN now, got Gravity Rush and Uncharted to play. Really disappointed with the wifi though, I cannot get signal upstairs despite every other device having no issue.

Not the end of the world, I shall mainly be playing PS1 classics :) I'll check that one out but didn't really get it to play Vita games as odd as it may sound.
