Was this a standard 3 pin plug or an adaptor socket of some sort; flying to California in July and was wondering whether to take to Vita. Without onboard power it's a waste of time; 3.5 hrs use on a 12 hour flight

Jeez your battery might be buggered. My vita lasted most of the return flight from Dominican Republic last September :)

Get a portable battery. I have a 13000mAh battery which will run or charge my Vita happily for days - I didn't need to charge from a socket once during a 5-day trip abroad, even though I played most of the journey there and back, and most evenings.

ETA: I did have to make myself a usb 'charging cable' though, since the Vita won't draw power through a USB connection while in use if the data wires are still there and it's not an official thing. Any usb extension without the data wires will work though.

On the BA flight it was a standard UK plug, on the Emirates flight out it was a UK socket on the flight back (older plane) it was a kind of multi socket one which I used a US adapter on.

Is there any way of playing remote play and able to chat?
I can listen fine but no-one can hear me.

This is what I've tried:

Party chat via PS4 remote play- mic switches off from DS4 obviously as this is disabled- can hear but not talk.

Party chat via Vita: disconnects when remote play commenced ?bandwidth issue

Is there a work around? Not much when I tried googling.

Bit frustrating as I bought it for remote play.

That is a shame, quite a glaring fault that should have been picked up on. Good luck With the return.
I think amazon are pretty good at sorting out refunds for their market place transactions.

Yea it was such a shame, was looking forward to it. Amazon were great they've arranged DPD to pick it up Tuesday and full refund. Decided to pick up a brand new one from simplygames for £129

So no one has had this problem???

Has anyone picked up the God of War collection for the Vita yet? Seriously tempted to get it at some point, wouldn't mind some opinions from those who have it.

Got it but I haven't played it yet :). I'm still trying to finish of FFX, which I don't feel like I've even dented yet.

If I play it before you buy it Davey I'll let you know what my opinions are.

Thanks Joe. I won't be buying it for a couple of months as I go to Florida on 26th July and I think it would be a perfect game for the flight, so hopefully it'll come down a little in price before I pick it up.

Has anyone here ported in a Japanese Vita? Tempted by the lime green or pink slim one, really fancy the extra battery life and lighter console, I'm sure I'll get used to the worse screen.

Also how common is the X and O swap, I'm sure I can get used to it but seems tedious.

Davey, this might be worth watching.

I usually watch a few of his first impression and play through videos before buying games.

His got some footage of Borderlands 2 as well.

Shame about borderlands, I was looking forward to that. I hope the resultant poor sales are correctly attributed to a poor port rather a lack of market interest in aaa conversions.

Still going to give bl2 a spin, after all it could potentially be fixed in a patch. From the videos I've seen the frame rate doesn't look too bad. Plus others who've got it are mainly annoyed at the cross save feature being disabled rather than any frame issue.

I think some of the bad reviews (IGN for example) were released before the day 1 patch which fixes a lot of issues (framerate etc)
The reviewer for game revolution mentions this in the comments to his review, explaining somewhat the disparity between his review and ign's.
