Plusnet Discussion Thread

Just read on moneysavingexpert if I go through that I can get:-

£120 cashback £100 vouchers

18.99 Monthly Line Rental
10.00 Unlimited Infinity 1
BT Sport with Basic TV

(one off costs:- £10 tv activation / £49 Infinity activation / £7.95 Homehub Delivery)

Think this will work out as £16.24 a month for 52 / 10

compared to £33.40 a month for 40/2

Seems like a no-brainer? Does my calculations seem right?

Cheers

Just checked and can get even better deal with topcashback (162.75 cashback)

This will take the monthly cost to £10.82 (paying upfront for line rental)

Awesome!

I'm looking forward to leaving Zen and saving some money, I hope some of these deals are about when I come to switch next year as they are very good!

Currently pay just shy of £50 for phone and FTTC.

I can't access MSE at work since it's blocked for some bizarre reason. If there is still a £100 voucher offer on top of the £115 cashback Quidco are offering (for just phone + broadband), plus the £5/mo discount for 80/20 Mb/s, then it might be worth me switching. That'd be £30/mo overall compared to £40/mo now, plus it's only a 12 month contract so I can jump back to Plusnet in a year's time and get another £100 or so cashback, which almost always works out better than retention deals.

Just realised I already paid my line rental saver for the following year so I'm stuck anyway. Ah well!

Hi just a quick question. I'm a bit confused, about the freebies with Plusnet.

Is it free for fibre unlimited customers, or do they charge you.

TIA

Sorry if I'm off-topic here, this thread does look to have derailed slightly into the "internet deals" thread (?)

What's the best offers at the moment for light usage, uber cheap fibre? Thinking long term price too as it's for my mum and grandad, like most older generation folks they'd rather stick with something they know rather than keep switching to chase the deals, so one change to a good deal is basically what I'm after :)

You had a problem last night as well, and a complete disconnect in the middle of the day. Have you reported is a fault, even if just via their forums?

FWI my PlusNet connection is fine.

PlusNet are in denial on their forum, lots of guys on the new network have been having this issue every night for nearly 4 weeks!.

I jump ship tomorrow to BT ..I'll put money on the issue going away tomorrow.

The disconnect at 11am for a router reset+ I needed to set up the new Hub6.

I've been with plusnet for years and never had an issue, maybe one or two drop outs bar that it's been rock solid. I just use the openreach modem and my own asus router. I'm not on a fast speed though (54), it maxes my line, maybe that's why I haven't had any issues?

Probably a stupid question, but what's the 'new' network and how/why would you end up on it?

The new network is they are moving people over from a shared WBC to their own dedicated WBC platform.

I've been on the new network for months with no problems at all up until 4 weeks ago, when it looks like they moved a lot of others on to it.

If your IP starts with 51 you are on the new network.
